Yep, I'm goign to see them in Glasgow on Friday. Saw them on the last tour, when they did the charity gigs, and they were stunning- better than ever before I reckon. Did they play anything off the (rubbish) new albums? Last time was just the first 5. Welcome back! Now Ricky Warwick can stop being a second-rate acoustic warbler :)
The Almighty was one of my first ever gigs... We had backstage passes to see them on the Crank tour in about 94, fantastic... Stumpy trying to stop us all from seeing Ricky Warwick getting pleasured by Vanessa, and Floyd London making jazz cigarettes, we were too young for such sights :)

WOW! Strangely I am listening to them right now, Destroyed.
Have seen them a few times, mostly at the Barras in Glasgow but once in 96 or 97 in Newcastle, cannot remember the name of the place.
Who's in the line up these days???

Powertrippin/Crank era lineup I think- Stumpy, Ricky Warwick, Pete "Star of Wayne's World" Friesen and Floyd London.
Yes its the classic line up and they play all of what you want enjoy it tonight Northwind let us know what you think.
Its as good reason as any to reform and a bit of inspiration to all to get out a do it what ever it is.

That was fantastic... I had a near-lethal case of Man Flu, but it turns out they might be the best cure for disease ever :) Different set from last time too, very very good. And more dates to come this year, according to that nice Mr Warwick. Stumpy reckons May, but that'll depend on if they do a full album or not. Win win situation that!

Just seen this thread. We went to see them on Saturday too. Very good :D
Although, I gotta say, although the smoking ban up here is generally speaking one of the best things that has ever happened, it don't half make you realise how much "unpleasantness" it covered up! I was stuck behind someone who was farting like a trooper, and had clearly had way too much rich xmas food! I was also stuck between 2 very sweaty and smelly arm-pitted guys! :pukel:

Yeah, that was me :)
True though, I went and saw Biffy Clyro at a tiny wee venue in Perth- small room, wet day, hot air, and the entire crowd going nuts, and you end up with a very smelly gig indeed. You really wish they'd drop in 20 people smoking pipes :)
They could just light a bong in the corner
