Wheel dimensions.

I am thinking of using a set of SV wheels in my RGV250, I need a few dimensions though. Could somebody please tell me the diameter of the spindles (I am assuming they will both be 20mm as suzuki are pretty good at keeping all sizes standard!) and also the dimension for the spacing of the front discs (Not too important as I will be making my own discs and can make the discs align correctly.) The last dimension I need is a rough idea of the dimension from the centre line of the wheel to the centreline of the sprocket so that I can see if chain alignment is going to be too difficult to get right. Also would it be possible for someone to weigh the wheels with or without tyres fitted?
Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing I can say for sure is that the carbed model spindles are both 17mm not 20mm. It's quite likely that you could swap bearings and make spacers to make it work though.

The RGV is 17mm front as well, but the forks I am using have to have spacers made for them to be used, the wheel spindle could be anything upto 25mm diameter, that isnt an issue, I can make them to suit the forks without any problems. I was using Aprilia rs250 wheels (20mm spindle) as I liked the styling of them, but the front is 200g heavier than the RGV wheel and the rear is 1.2kg heavier (+ another 300g for the sprocket carrier). I am assuming that with newer casting techniques the SV wheels will be less than the RGV wheels. If it is a significant saving I will use the newer wheels, if not I will use the rgv ones.

SV wheels are surprisingly heavy... I don't have the numbers any more, sorry, but an SV rear is heavier than a Bandit 12 rear of the same vintage, even though that's a 5.5 with a heavier sprocket carrier. Didn't expect that... GSXR 17" front from an SRAD- same years- is lighter than the SV, too, though that could be just the ally spacers and bearings, can't remember the differences well enough to say for sure...

The standard RGV front wheel is 3.8kg and the rear is just over 5kg, thats without discs and bearings fitted, just the cush drive rubber in the rear. I think the later SV wheels may be lighter.

Front wheel with bearings weighs 4.1Kg
