I know this should be posted in "Euro Tours" but I thought it would get a bit more exposure in here.
£269 gets you a return ferry from Dover - Calais and three nights accomodation in a comfy campanile in or around Le Mans over the weekend of the French Moto GP 18th - 21st May 2007.
Names, addresses and contact details to me to register your intent to go. Notify me via email and not pm as its easier for me to keep tabs on things.
Thank you. That is all.

been to the car one a few times and had a great time, always wanted to check the bike race out but always seem to be put off by the fact that it always seems to rain for it, nothing wrong with the rain, but thats a long way getting soggy,
mite have to go this year anyway because i want to go soo bad!

We had a bit of rain last year, but it was mostly on the way home. France was pretty well dry apart from a brief shower just outside Rouen. The worst weather was when we got back to the UK. ****ed it down from Reading all the way back to Chepstow
Thing is, you can't expect to ride over 1200 miles and not get wet at some point.
Do it!!! You know you want to!!!! :D

I can reccomend Le Mans MotoGP as a top weekend. If you book tickets in advance a weekend pass is 52 Euros (that is for general admission but does allow access into some of the grandstands, but get there early!) or 98 Euros for the Carrefour grandstand at La Chappelle (excellent view with screen and plenty of passing) or 110 Euros for Garage Vert Grandstand at the Garage Vert hairpin. Entry to the Privelege Grandstand is 155 Euros. If you buy on-line select the ticket collection option and collect tickets at the circuit rather than pay 15 euros to get tickets sent.
Plenty of info at www.gpfrancemoto.com
A top weekend, just hope the weather is better this year, last year was cold and wet! :(
Hi guys,
Any development on this thread?
can anyone recommend one of the grandstands (Privilège Grandstand/Carrefour Grandstand/Garage Vert Grandstand)?
Merci,
Gaz.
I will be there - paid the deposit on Friday.
Going with a bloke from work and 4 of his mates ( booked with ZI tours i think ).
Should be a giggle :D

I won't be going this year, but can I just point something out......
Travelling to Europe on your bike is something that everybody should experience, but please....
Riding with people you don't know for a number of days isn't easy. You don't know their riding habits, their speed etc.
Somebody needs to take charge and give everybody a route, otherwise people will get lost, get frustrated and get to the hotel late.
I'm not trying to people to suck eggs here, BUT, riding your bike in Europe should be a fun experience, and with just a little organisation, it can be. The last thing I'd want is people coming back unhappy because they got lost, felt pressured in to riding too quickly etc.
Bellerophon, it was your post, maybe you'd like to take the bull by the horns and make a few suggestions (meeting times etc) I've done the trip a few times now and can give you a couple of places to stay...

what is the overall cost of the trip? £30 a day food & petrol?
how much to watch the race ?
i have a busy june & july ......but am tempted

Its £269 for the trip, approx £40 for a room at the Travellodge in Dover on the Thursday night, approx £130 for fuel (depends where you live but I'm calculating a return trip from Chepstow), and whatever you want to take for spending money. Bear in mind that the campanile we're staying at is only B+B but there are numerous restaurants and fast food joints nearby.
Mac, its ZI Tours we'll be going with as well. The guy that runs it (Chris Exall) is the guy that leads the way for us. Closer to the event we'll all get our heads together and fix up somewhere to meet on the Thursday evening.
Entry to the circuit is around 65 euros (I think) for a two day pass. Prices aren't too bad when you're there for food, roughly equal to what you would pay in the High Street in the UK.
Any other questions, either pm me or post on here for others to gain info.

Listen to Steve - he speaks a lot of sense.
At the very least, try to get in a ride with the people you're going with before getting to the continent.
We will be riding together. All the way down the Jubilee Way into Dover Docks
Behave will you? I understand the sentiment of what you saying but logistically its just not going to happen. It would involve getting people from Swansea, Llanelli, Gloucester, Kent, Northants, Hampshire and Newcastle together just to go for a ride out. I don't think so. Unlike some people on this forum I for one DON'T have unlimited time or money to fritter away on meaningless rides.
If you don't like the way someone rides then either get in front of them or stay well back, or let them know. Politely of course!
This is my one weekend away this year and I intend to enjoy it. I went last year and had a great time. In the group we were in there were 26 riders including me and 3 mates. I didn't know any of the others from Adam but no-one got lost or separated and we all found the hotel. Good group leadership. Thats the key.
so your looking at £500 :?

To be fair, your first post didn't intimate that at all, it read like "Right lads, lets get down to Le Mans, last one there buys the beer", or almost.
You're right good leadership (and a good tail man) are the key to everybody getting there. You can't help the way that others ride, but personally, I've gone right off of riding with people I don't know, especially when time is precious....
Just make sure everyone enjoys it...

Cheers Steve. Hopefully we will all enjoy it.
People still going to this???
I'm after a bit of advice - was planning on booking a ticket through the following site: http://www.gpfrancemoto.com
tickets are 59 euros which is fine - postage is 30 euros
Ideally i'd prefer not to pay half the ticket value for it to arrive at my door!!! There is an option for 'withdrawal of the tickets : sending by e-mail as from March 15 of confirmation with booking number and methods' but not at all sure what this means...........
Any advice on the best/cheapest way of picking up the tickets would be greatly appreciated.
Andy.

In the past I have got my overseas Moto GP and WSB tickets from Big Rock Holidays (http://www.bigrock-holidays.com)
See what they can do for you...
