OK I pay insurance in the UK for a fast modded car and the bike.

So how much did I just pay for my Vespa SS50 1974 modded to the maximum possible here in Greece???

I'm just over the grand mark 4 my sv (TPFT), something to do with my age and the number of crashes I have caused,

Well, I just moved house from a rented flat in the countryside (bucks) to my own place in town (harrow), bike garaged at both locations, the insurance premium went up from under £400 to over £600. Doh! Car in comparison (a GTI) went from £300 to £350. Hmmn....

I paid just under £350 fully comp for my SV thats with No NCD, 3 points, and a couple of accidents. Then i added my Ducati half way throught the policy and it added an extra £445 just for the 6 months

That means when it comes time to renew i may be looking at £1200

I thin i'll have a ring round when the time comes.

I paid £76 comp for my Virago last time :) But that could have been because no bugger'd steal it, and at full speed it couldn't kill a granny.

150 odd TPFT for me (just passed my test & no NCD), another 20 quid to add an additional rider (with license for 4 years and no NCD due to their bike being off the road for past 2)

OK yeah I live in the sticks, bike is garaged and i've had no accidents, claims or convictions "in past 10 years" in my cage :D

Mines TPF&T, but comp is only £10 more iirc. On a bike as old as mine its pointless to go comp. non garagred, 10k per year milage and £175 xcess. Oh, i is 35 and had the bike from new (7th year now)

I'm paying £900 fully comp for my R6. Also bear in mind that in order to get insurance companies to consider selling me insurance, I have to rent a garage at £30 a week. So I guess the total is (sort of)

£2460 a year  (but I do get a garage in the deal!)

Ah, the joys of living in London!

I'm 23, living out in the sticks, garaged SV650K6. Licence held now for around 6 months, 0 no-claims, no accidents, no points. Homeowner & drive a big car with dependant kids (which in the eyes of the insurance firms, means I have a reason to live). £330/year FC :)

£900 is with eBike and are by far the best quote - everyone else was around the £1800 + the garage costs! The SV was fine on the drive, but a brand new R6 - no-one would touch it with a barge pole unless it was garaged or I didn't include theft insurance!

It's not so bad - I have a lot of space to work on bikes now and I don't have to have put them back together by the end of the day (which is nice). Also despite the fact that I'm covered, I really don't want the bike to get nicked. I have space in the garage for at least another 2 bikes, so was considering sub-letting, but at the moment, I don't trust anyone enough!

did you find it hard to get a garage at that price? i'd love a garage but apparently they are £200-£300 a month !!

I approached the local council (Camden) and they said that in the immediate area around my flat I had no chance even more so since I needed it for a bike. They did tell me though that they cost was 25 p/w or there abouts. Had a look on gumtree.com and it was pure chance that some guy was trying to rent his garage about 5 minutes walk away for 30 p/w.

So, yes, it was easy, but then again, I was damn lucky! It does have it's downsides though - no electricity or running water.
