Anyone have a clue about Dehumidifiers

Ok all I know is their not cheap :shock: :shock: Need it for the spare room because we are washing alot more cloths now with the baby :roll: :wink: and we are getting mould on the window seals and around the window :twisted: :twisted:
So anyone with more brains then me know where to start looked in Argos so far and thats about it :oops:

B&Q do several. I recently got hold of an extra one, cant recall the make but it was approx £99 and works extremely well.

Will post the make in a bit.

I would suggest VERY strongly about not going near any EBAC product, over the years i've had a lot of bad experience with them. (have 4 scrap EBAC ones here if anyone needs spares for theirs)

Only if you close the door, a small extract fan will pull air from other parts of the house. Hopefully warm dry air. Be careful if the room is adjacent to one with a gas fire. The ensuing negative pressure can cause flue spillage.

I'd for a dehumidifier, but get one that had a humidistat to avoid drying the place out too much.

Just got a Amcor jobby after 2 years of living in a damp flat. Dry as a bone now, highly recommended. Cost about a ton, has a humidistat, does the whole flat from one room when we've got the doors open.

Make sure you keep the receipts for them - I got through 4 of the things trying to dry out my cellar - mind you I did have it on all the time for about 6 months :?

I have an extractor fan in the "washing room" it works very well indeed. I also have an condenser dryer which does not create so much moisture in the room. If just the washing machine is on then we leave the door shut and the extractor fan on. If the drier is on then we leave the door open to distribute some of the heat around the house rather than wasting it all out of the extractor.

If you get one with a Negative Ion creator dont do what the better half did and look for them in the water catcher - you wont find them in there :roll: :lol:
