my bike cost me 1500 at the end of june cash off a mates mate who's wife wouldnt let him keep it after he put himself in the hospital stacking an rs250 into a tree. Its a 99 sv650s which had done 15k with 5 preivious owners and it had what appeared to be a full service history. It came with a full fairing, dark screen, carbon remus grand prix end can with high level link pipe, carbon bar ends and most of the bolts have been replaced for stainless ones and a couple are anodised blue if they are on the body work. I also got a set of paddock stands, a haynes manual, a cd with all the parts numbers and workshop manual on it and the original end can. I think i got a pretty good deal but you have to remember that mine is about as old as they get so newer ones will cost more but i did buy in summer and winter prices are always lower.
if i was buying one now i would probably take a good look at both this one (http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=49222) and this one (http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=45103)

look here for a base on prices- http://www.parkers.co.uk/motorbikes/used-prices/
i paid a little more for my sv1000sk3 because it was very clean, had no milage on and had nice extras which i would have put on anyway  now is a good time to bag a bargain but tatty bikes dont fetch good money this time of year.
I paid £900 for my 2000 w reg curvy, has 27k on the clock, v v good condition, quite a few extras, all she needed was alil bit of tlc/2 new tyres/tax/mot and she was back on the road. :D
You got a sweet deal there Paws.
I paid £2000 for a Y reg yellow curvy S. Immaculate condition. Never been down the road. Completely stock with full service history and just under 4000 miles on the clock. That was from a dealers though.

Well, when the first SV came out it cost over £5,000!
£4,000 on the road now though.
This means second hand prices go down too. The price is a very difficult one to guage. With a few ballpark figures. I would pay for the standard of the bike and not the price in a book.
The cheap early SVs can be had for silly money. Considering the strong engine that ain't bad. Just the Silly Suzuki build quality is the fly in the ointment.
If you want a SV then check out the sellers section...some great SVs in there
