Listening to Radio 1 this am, the Chris Moyles show. He was saying he had so much stuff to carry about it was time for a man bag … them trying to show that it is still masculine and picking one that doesn’t look girly etc etc … its all funny as you might imagine …
So, who would feel ok owning a man bag?
Forget about practicality right now … like personally I only have call for rucksacks … but speaking hypothetically here would you have a man-bag?? :)
They're called rucksacks!

Voted for option one, don't wan't to be picking up the missus' bag by mistake.
all you need is money, keys, mobile phone pockets will do the trick
Its called a helmet (no I don't really stick stuff in my helmet but some people do) or a tank bag...
maybe even a bum-bag, but that's me lot.

The only time you need anything like that it's because your missus is trying to palm off her stuff to you! Sorry, love her dearly, but if she wants it then she can carry it!!!
As the MIGHTY Hovi5 said Keys, wallet, money and phone...

Nick,
Where's the "Already got one" option ?
Ok, so I haven't used it in ages (bike jackets tend to have enough pockets for it all) - but, back in the early 80's when I was working abroad EVERYBODY was using them so I thought 'What the hell'.
One of the most useful things I've ever bought.
Used to get some strange looks from time to time in this country - but not enough to bother me.
Would I buy another one ?
If I needed one - a definite YES !!

The compulsory record bag is the man bag of the last deacde and will remain so for the forseable future i think. Cool, groovy and big enough to carry a fair bit of junk about in.
Thats if ruchsacks are just not cool enough...or you have a beard and drak hair/eyes and dont wanna get stopped every few mins by the filth.
Option 1 for me. But then, for option 1 to apply, it's really got to be a rugsack, or tankbag.

...
Good point, but I can't change the poll now votes have been cast ...
I suggest you go for option 3 ;)

I use my Oxford Humpback Tankbag daily, slinging it over my shoulder on the carry strap when its not magnetically attached to the bike..
I guess it could be thought of as a manbag - tho a "REAL Manbag" at that :)

There is only one 'man' bag that I'm aware of 8) , and which you can't really do with out unless you've had an unfortunate accident.
Other than that definitely NO (spoken in a very deep bass thundery masculine voice)! Support masculinity and maleism stay sluggish with ya luggage and vote NO NO NO, to man bags!!
Whatever next? Hairdryers? Call yerselves bikers?!
My youngest son got a hairdryer and straighteners for Chrimbo. There, I've admitted it, its out in the open, Oh the shame, I'm a failed father (but still spoken in a very deep bass thundery masculine voice). :smt022 [/i]

Aren't the last two options identical? :D

Not really ... the first is more like 'I am not 100% sure ... I might like the idea of having a bag even though it might be a bit lady like ... it could tilt the scales and send me for sure in that direction' ... the second is a blatant 'Man-Bags are for poofs' touch ;)

I have a backpack which I look my helmet trap through to use as an extra convinient holding place when walking round town, helmet doubles as man bag I suppose.
I hope you where a good father and brought him some GHD's?
:-k :smt102
Quality brand of hair straighteners (Mrs Tricky has some)
I have a "Jack Bauer" style canvas bag I use whenever I need to carry enough stuff to warrant a bag, which isn't that often. (Apart from transporting my PE kit to the gym).
Women have hand bags because there clothing tends to have less pockets.
Contents of women's handbag:
Purse
Make up
Keys
Phone
Crap
Mens equivalent:
Wallet - Back trouser pockets or inside jacket pocket
Phone - As above
Change - Front trouser pockets
Keys - As above
Handkerchief - As above
Where the need for a bag ?
