View Full Version : Powercommanders - are they interchangable?

Just doing some research for a mate, and wondered if powercommanders were interchangable? Looked on their website and models appear to have different part numbers, but wondered if this was anything to do with wiring configuration and whether you could "adapt" a powercommander to fit any bike?

It would follow logic that powercommander only produce 1 unit which can be programmed with different maps, but wondered if that was how it worked? My bike being a carbed model, I wouldn't really have a clue.

Help much appreciated.

Doubt it, the internals may be the same but iirc they connect to the ECU and the injectors so that part of the wiring at least would probably be different at least between manufacturers.

Not much help I know, if you know someone who's got one I can compare it with the TL PCIII I have in my garage at the mo.

Some are interchangeable, depends on the connectors. For example many gsxr 600/750 and 1000 ones are. Not sure about SV connectors though. Dynojet have been to me in the past via email - try emailing them. www.dynojet.co.uk will have their address.
