I Love my Bike!

I feel the need to just say how much I love my bike! Today is a sh*tty wet day, with loads of muck on the road, but I needed a ride, simple as that. Am thinking and dreaming about my bike all the time!

Anyway, been out for an hour or two, round Matlock etc. and have come back sooooooooooo happy with this bike. The last few rides I have done I seemed to lose my bottle a little, but today, even though cautious due to road conditions, we were as one!

I fitted new tyres about 2 weeks ago, and what a difference. It corners beautiful, its lights, its responsive yet always kind. Anyway, just wanted to express my joy! roll on the summer and many biking weekends and warm evenings

I love my bike too! Today, finally had the proper ride out I've been looking forward to these past 3 weeks. Met a mate and his cousin in Chessington, off to Boxhill, then Newlands Corner, then back through Headley to Chessington again- lots of backroads. Lovely. Took it easy, but still pushed myself a llittle and got down a bit lower than expected on some bends and roundabouts- SWEEEEEEET!

Did I say I love my bike- sorry, I meant I REEEALLY love my bike!

Love my bike too.

Fitted new UK light and central fairing section and it worked. Started it and revved it for 5 mins to annoy the neigbours like a five year old kid!

Just need to fix one indicator mounty a little, should be backk together next week. Brrmm, Brrrmmm.

Glad to hear everyone is loving their bikes at this p*o time of year, dread to think of the SV loving that's going to go on when the weather improves :wink:

I love my bike despite today's riding experience being a real contrast. We were a group of around 20 bikes which included:

Fireblade

2 x R1

GSXR1000 k3

GSXR 750

KTM 990 Duke

Buell 1200

Cagiva Raptor 1000

Fazer 1000

Fazer 600

GSXR 600

Ninja ZX10R

Ninja ZX9R

Z750

Ducati 749S

The pace today was FAST...definitely not Highway Code approved and yes much more suited to the track. But the weather was bright and cold with sunshine and riding was just so enjoyable.

I actually found out today that if I actually want to let my bike rip it can actually stay with the best of them as the only benefit they have over me at times is straight line speed, or more accuratley the extra grunt to hit higher speeds that much quicker. I was pleased to see that if I want to I can corner as fast as the quickest and even with my too many years riding...I was very pleased to see that.

The only time anyone went passed me today was if I decided I would let him go, as I could have actually kept him back if I really wanted to...but it didn't matter to me.

So after a coffee and a toast we decided to do another run down the mountain and back up. Apolagies but once again we were quick! I had great fun making a nuisance of myself right behind José on his R1. :wink: But when we gathhered at our turn around point, we realised someone was missing. One of the guys had indeed come off. Riding his Triumph 900 with big Police type fairing. A tightening left hander had undone him, he said he felt the front let go and it was "bye bye".

The left hand side of his petrol tank was completely flattened and mainly plastics damage elsewhere. A fair old impact indeed. But David the rider had no more than sore ribs and a sore left thigh! Fooking amazing when you saw the bike.


So after getting the bike taken away and an ambulance to attend to look at David we headed home very leisurely.

But would you believe it? A few klicks further on in to a tightish right hander and no more than say 30 mph, I felt for that split second...my front tyre slip. Anyone who has experienced knows that instant "oh fook" thought that goes through your head. But maybe it was luck, the fact I had a small amount of counter steer force on the bars or it was merely I had touched a bit of crap on the road.....she gripped again and although I had then gone a touch wide....I sighed with relief. A bit nervous for the remaining right handers but live to tell the tale.

Funny aint it? You ride like a bat and all works out ok, but then potter along and you nearly have a fall?

But she didnt fall and we had had plenty of good fun earlier so she is forgiven and I love her even more! :wink:

BT020 ... and pleased with them so far. ONLY ridden in the wet so far, so can't wait for some dry roads!

I'm glad folks like their SVs. personally I think it's just a pile of cheap wotsit. Yeah sure it does what it says on the tin but so what? I can't wait to get me self a proper bike like :wink:

Glad you had an enjoyable ride. Some days I get back grinning like a cheshire cat and that's riding the one with standard suspension. The SV is now top of my list of basic(if you will)most fun bike I've owned. Used to be my old Bros. Sweet bike :thumbsup:

You have a point about the sv. But, can't take away from the fact that as you say it does as it says on the tin. It is affordable and fun, couldn't be a better combination! The way I see it at least you don't feel to guilty about spending shed loads of cash on a toy just for yourself. At the end of the day so long as you look after it you should get a few years of yee ha out of it. Biking is biking, and it feels good when it goes well

I went out on my SV yesterday after 3 weeks on the tiddly crosser (hack).

Simple pleasures, like being able to go faster than 60mph and a back brake that actually works :wink: :D

Glad you love your bike....i on the other hand am starting to get bored of the SV...maybe time to move on
