Not really sure where to post this...

But here goes, feel free to move me as appropriate.

Hi all, my name's Ciarán, i'm on BCF under the same name.
I'm 18, and currently raising funds for my A2 test which i need to do before April.

I'm currently on a Gilera Runner 125SP, and really interested in getting an SV650S.
Will only have about £700 to spend on one initially so keep em notified!

Now for a funny thing, last February, i hit a deer on the seven hills road (weybridge) at 40mph on my runner.
Was 1am, i was doing 40mph and it jumped out on me (little *******) bike faired well, but broke both my hands and damaged my knee ligaments. (Surgery is in april, hence why i need to do my test then)

So hi all!
I'll attach a picture of my runner in a second

Hello mate, and welcome!

SV650 is a great choice after your Gilera, just don't go hitting more deer with it ;)

Hi there.

The SV is a great first bike to aspire to, it can take you a long way. Good luck with the surgery and test!

Welcome! Animals jumping out in the middle of the night is probably my worst fear. They just act so randomly. Sounds like a very unlucky off.

Hi Ciarán, bad luck about the off, glad your OK, the silver lining is you hit it at 40mph, if you had been on an SV chances are the speed would have been higher.

Yes, he could of had the kudos of nailing one at 60mph like someone here. :-dd

Welcome aboard Ciaran.

Thanks for the very warm welcome guys.
Well my bike will do 80mph but i thought it would be sensible to ride down a black road at 40mph.
How wrong was i lol.

Stupid diving deer.
It survived, i think i knocked it out at first, because it was just laying there, i walked over to it to collect my gloves which came off after the first impact, and it looked at me, and hobbled off.

Hey dude!

Welcome to the forum. Shame about the crash, I hope the op goes well for you.

An SV is an ideal bike for your first big bike (i moved from a speedfight to a restricted sv). I guess from your age you'll have to be restricted to? SV's are still quite pokey restricted (no point in revving it though, i keep the revs under 7 grand and over 4)

Cool thanks for that.
Yeah i'll have to be restricted.
How long they stay in for is another thing lol
