I hate to admit it but THIS (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/01/17/google_erases_brit_bases/)is really thinking outside the box and is genius.
Using Google Earth locate and find weaknesses in millitary bases.
It will probably mean such services will now be suspended or kept out of date in war zones from now on but you have to admit nobody, including the millitary who are now up in arms about this, even thought of this possibility (and they are supposed to have teams of experts to think up exactly this sort of thing) so to blame google is a bit off imho and they were quick to fix this and changes can be made to out date existing maps.
I mean where do they think google gets these images from in the first place..hmmmm..
The images removed from google are still available at various places on the internet as well ;)
Typically short sighted of the military command IMO.
Not everybody uses the internetz for porn and giggles.

I hope the terrorists don't know about the way back machine that lets you view old versions of a webpage ;)
(Not that this will probably work for things that reference a database like Im sure G.Earth does but anyway)

There's quite a funny one with a bunch of stealth bombers, but I can't find it just now. Completely invisible to surveilance!

Tons more at the Register... You could search it for "40-metre profanity", I can't link to it but it's ace.
