Virgin still do a 12 month contract.

I got a 12 month Virgin contract for my daughter (200 mins/300texts) with a free Samsung D600 (Camera, MP3 etc) for £8.99 a month through Carphone Whorehouse - you have to pay the standard contract price and then claim back the difference - never had any problems with the claims, always had a cheque back within a week.

I want a really **** cheap one, my antique 5100's just gone wobbly :( There are limits to what even the armoured phones will stand, apparently.

Who do you have a contract with now?

you cant get better than the sony for music nowdays,
they got quite a nice walkman range of phones out, i have the w810i, great camera, great sound.

try o2.co.uk and get an online contract, they tend to be cheaper than other phone retailers, and when you stay with you for a year, they will come up trumps and offer you a great deal in a bid for your custom ;)

I went with 02 through carphone warehouse. they have given me a good renewal price two years running and alway send the line rental redemption cheques out.

If you are brave there are some very good deals out there on the web. Dialaphone always seem to be cheap but I am not sure what the small print says on the contract about cheque back.

I have got a Sony W810i which seems great at all things. I did have an indestructable nokia 5140 before but it got properly drowned on a wet run up the M6, so if the phone needs to be bagged you may aswell get a better featured less waterproof one.

Currently, the Sony K800i is the phone of all phones.

The W950i is the best for music but is bulky and not got that good a camera on it. The 800i is the best all rounder.

However if you can wait a couple of months, the new Nokia is due out, the N95(i think) 5mp camera, 2 gig storage...

All companies still do a 12 month contract, they just tart up the deals on the 18 months making it more 'attractive'

I know a few people who have K800i's and love 'em.
THe camera is about the best I've seen on a phone and has a proper flash and quite a few other useful looking features.

Personnaly I've just ordered a Samsung D900. This is because I've had a W550 (worst phone ever) digging in my **** for the past 18 months and wanted something nice and slim.

Another vote for the K800i.

Upgraded to this from the K750i which I thought was good, but the K800i knocks spots off it.
3.2 mega pixel camera is superb, with a few handy Shooting modes; Panorama - joins up 3 photos and BestPic which takes a few pics immediately before and after shutter is fully pressed, did wonder what the point of that was but it works really well and can avoid the "eyes closed" photo. Just choose which pic you want to keep.

A descent sized M2 memory card (getting cheaper and cheaper) will give loads of mp3 space. (My 1GB has approx 200 songs). FM radio requires the headphones to be attached as they act as the aerial but you can then put speaker on.

All in all can't really say a word against it, possibly a bit bulky compared to some but that's a small price to pay for the quality of the camera. Then again I'm a Sony Ericssson tart anyway, I like the quality and it's my 4th SE phone

oh, and ebay always seems to have cheap brand new memory cards, i got a 2 gig for 20 quid a few months back, brand new and unopened.

I've got a W810i which is just great, I had a K750i (brilliant) previously, and K700i before that. I said a little while ago that I couldn't see me changing from Sony. However, I need a PDA type of device (email on the move) and am currently looking at the O2 XDA Mini-s (same as T Mobile MDA Vario) which is magic.

Still lots of 12 month contracts out there though, just say you want a 12 month contract and they'll offer you one.
