Ally Pally Show.
Had a look in MCN Whats On section and they make no mention of the show at Ally Pally this weekend.Sour grapes as the show they sponsor is the following weekend at Exell. What an apology for a motorcycling news publication that it can't bring itself to mention a major show in London.Shows how accurate the rest of their reporting is likely to be does it not?Glad I stopped buying it years ago.

went there once
my friend won a comp where you had to trackstand a motorbike as long as poss.....they didnt even send his silverstone tickets! he got nothing.
plus the show sucked!
never going again
I'm going tomorrow too
socommk23, it's been run by MCN for last few years, IMHO when it was the racing and superbike show it was better than the NEC. Its now being run by superbike and looks as if it will be a much better show than Excel.

But it calls itself Motor Cycle NEWS.A major bike show in London is news in my book.Just shows what a crap rag it is,and that it does not print news, just it's own slanted and biased opinions promoting it's own political and economic interests. Not something I would want to contribute my hard earned to.
Reckon I'll be at Ally Pally on Sunday.

Dont think I'll go to either, none of the major makers are at either, the MCN show only has KTM and Ducati, and cant see any maker at the superbike show

That's why I like it :) If I want to see race bikes, I go to a race. If I want to see bikes for sale, I go to a bike seller. But when I want to get an Optimate for £25 I go to a bike show :)
Whos Been? - What did you see and what did you buy???
Contemplating a PC3 or Rear Shock or some waterproof kit? Is it worth the effort?
Went today was disappointed really, The Ducati 1098 was on show in a line up of new bikes. the BSB pit lane was quite poor with only Nori's old Yamaha and Ben Bostroms Honda and a few privateer bikes. If you were looking for riding gear or a few bolt ons it was probably quite good not so many of the tatty old sweat shop leathers. If you want to go to see Moto GP bikes top BSB or WSB bikes then forget it save your money an buy a ticket to the Brands BSB or WSB or Donnington Park for the GP.

Thanks VFR400...thats made up my mind to go to EXCEL next weekend then...well that and the fact that MCN have sent me a complimentary ticket
I'm looking forward to seeing whether or not having the bigger venue will have spurred them on to a better show  one can only hope

I'm going tomorrow as it would be rude not to from where I live. :) Not really after anything to buy,but it will be good to see the new Duke in the flesh.
Having said that I do need a pair of boots and gloves so it could be worthwhile.

Ally Pally this year is being run by Superbike magazine whereas in previous years it was MCN. MCN have however moved their show to EXCEL next weekend so if you're comparing then I would wait until next weekend

Yeah, I was just wondering how it compared to last year seeing that it is different sponsors..

Different I would have thought... :?
From what I've heard and read on here it wasn't anywhere near the standard of the MCN show except they had fewer "cheapy made in sweat shop in taiwan" type stalls.

It wasn't bad, but glad I didn't pay to get in. Nice chill out area with the racers, and yes, there were less of those dodgy stands around, which was good. Major bargains were to be had, and we got what we went for. I'd prob do it again, but prob only if I had something in mind that I wanted to buy.
P.S, so who had the lovely blue pointy with blue flames in the bike park?? (parked with rizla gixxer)

Not me Mine was the naked curvy. :)
There was some good quality kit on sale at good prices. The new duke looks the bizz, but it was hard to take in the details as what was draped over it was pretty stunning too.
James Toseland is very upbeat about his chances against the Dukes this year----
I felt the atmosphere was a bit more informal than previous shows, and I hope they can build on this format in future.Good luck to Superbike for daring to take on the MCN Emap monopoly.
Was pretty good - lots of bits and pieces about if you like the bolt ons. Top bargains on these items and agree if you had a list it would be easy enough to fulfill at great prices. It was interesting to speak to some of the manufacturers of items and get decent service and excellent product knowledge - something you dont get online or at the average dealer that has so many products to learn about. I would say the Excel show will be the same though - with the bikes too!
