View Full Version : Tyres
This has probaly been asked a thousand times so lets make it 1001. Don`t know much about tyres so which ones, i do a fair amount of miles so want something that will last and give me more grip/feel mid corner. Changed the back at 5000 miles n front has done 7500 now so def need a change, have heard that mixing n matching tyres can invalidate insurance so probally need to change both. So what are the suggestions guys n girls :riding:
sorry forgot to say 650, k6

But most people say Z6's are the way to go. Got quoted £159 fitted to wheels today if that help.
Not heard about the insurance thing though

MIght be a long trek for me, but that is a bloody good quote - I can't get below £216!!!!
Also try Conti Road attacks, used them last summer and all this winter. Good tyre wear and grip in all weathers, plus I got the rear fitted for 86 quid.

Not sure if they're going to be best thing for the roads in February.
I've been using Diablos for a couple of years commuting, touring and trackdaying and get about 5000 miles out of a rear, 7000 from a front.

also if u want more grip the tyre is gonna be softer and if your doing lots of miles its just gonna square it off

Try http://thevisorshop.com/acatalog/Main_Menu_TYRES_196.html just down the road from me :-) Well okay a few miles away. :-)
I'm running Dulop Quallifiers atm and I would highly recommend awesome grip wet or dry and they warm up quickly as for mileage I've had them on for 1500+ and there's loads of tread left and no sign of squaring!!!
thanx guys. tbh forgot i asked the question  it`s only cos i was sat here thinking about my 7.5k service that i remembered about tyres

I did have on my Gixxer, Dont bother, they are IMHO horrible. Take ages to heat, dont hold heat unless ridden hard, really vague when its cold and not much cop in the wet and they dont last long either. 1800 miles was all I was getting. Expensive as well.
