What a great series that was. Wish C4 would re-run it again, the dvd box-set is a bit pricey (when you can find it).

What a great series that was. Wish C4 would re-run it again, the dvd box-set is a bit pricey (when you can find it).

There have been several box-sets of "The Prisoner" released on DVD, and it is universally accepted that the finest of these was Umbrella Entertainment's 35th Anniversary set, released in Australia in 2002.

Featuring all 17 episodes, plus the "Alternative Chimes", the picture quality is better than any other box-set release of the series, plus there are countless exclusive extras, including behind the scenes footage from the 1966 Portmeirion filming, including footage of the original Rover device!

Exciting news has reached TUW that this set is available for the equivalent of £19 ($35 USD) plus shipping - making it not only the best box-set, but also one of the cheapest!

Also available at the same price is the 45th anniversary "Danger Man" box set, featuring all 39 half-hour episodes plus writers and directors commentaries, and many other classic ITC series. Click HERE for ordering details. Sets are becoming unavailable as fans snap them up, so try the following New Zealand alternative: http://www.gpstore.co.nz/DVDs/1467468.html

The UK DVD box-set is also reduced at play.com to £17.99 (free UK P&P), but it is arguable that the drop in picture quality is not worth sacrificing for the sake of a few pounds/dollars.

I've got the Aussie one!!! And also the Danger Man set from Oz. I originally collected the discs and magazines from DeAgostini at the newsagents, but gave up when the second box of eighteen discs was full and my wallet empty. The Aussie set is great and worth a try for. It's also worth visiting

http://www.theunmutual.co.uk/ for info such as the availability of the Aussie set.

Was gonna PM you to see if the rumours were true...that you've gone to the dark side!? Hope your new mistress is treating you well.
