Hi guys.

We've just booked our annual family holiday this year in the Dumfries and Galloway area, visiting some relatives on the wife's side while we're up there, and as a bonus me and the father in law are going up on the bikes :D As its going to be in (hopefully) sunny July I intend to leave the family at 'home' in the rented cottage and get out for at least one long morning on the bike around the local roads. I've seen some good runs, including one along the coast from Kirkcudbright where we'll be staying over to the Mull of Galloway, but was just wandering if any of you guys know any 'essential' roads I should check out in the area.

Cheers ;)

You'll be wanting to hit the Dalveen pass, which is the A702 between Carronbridge and Elvanfoot... here (www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?lat=55.3509&lon=-3.7315&scale=500000&icon=x) It's the best road in Scotland...
