Geek help needed: XP

Is there anyway that i can get the licence of my copy of XP from my PC anywhere? Well, its from my laptop. My mate, who i have now fallen out with, rebuilt my laptop about a year ago. I can get a windows CD, but it will come without a licence, so need to find the one thats assigned to my laptop.

Failing that, anyone got a back up licenced copy of XP Pro SP2 that they dont want...if you know what i mean ?

might sound silly but you have checked for the sticker on the bottom of the laptop right? 8)
