I posted a thread a month ago regarding this , i have always replaced tyres as a pair, at 4000 miles front had 2.5 mm left now ar 5300 miles and front has 2mm , rear has gone. what do u guys run the front down to , i recon the front is good for another 2-3k miles..
thinking of fitting a rear z6,
the softer tyre is at the front & the metz z6 are supposed to be similar to the diablo, the front looks the same tyre pattern ?

It depends how it feels. I run mine till it starts feeling horrible ie track road imperfections.
Personally, if the handling is still acceptable(IMO) I'll stick the Z6 on and just ride.

As an aside the "softer in front" thing is a bit of a nonsense honest (IMO). I don't how many people use the rear tyre as a guide for grip available at the front.

Currently running an AVON ST49 and a Diablo strada rear. Infact the profile compared to the ST Rear is quite different but it's not going to chuck me into the next hedge :)

I had a virtually brand new Strada on my retired bike and wasn't about to waste it
