View Full Version : I woke up this morning...
... to see glorious sunshine, and wide, clear blue skies.
I also have to work today (on a sunday, I'm sure that's a sin!)
Not a cloud in the sky... so I figure work can wait.
Carry on folks, I'm off for a "steady bimble" to re-profile those tyres a little
... to see glorious sunshine, and wide, clear blue skies.
So did I, got ready to go for a ride and it started ****ing down.

Woke up, sunshine. Went on rideout to Popham, sunny all the way until we got to Popham, then it peed it down. Waited for an hour or so, whilst eating bacon sarnie, left popham, sunny again! :D
Just got back from my bimble. Damn nice ride.
I spent a while after setting off teaching myself how to corner properly again, climbing all over the bike etc. Managed to improve on that (still work to be done). Then I spent the next part of the ride trying to sort out the vanishing point theory. Damn that feels good when you're not riding on the edge. Letter peripheral vison dictate where you sit in the bend, whilst looking far ahead into the distance. Nice.
The ride was just a general bimble, because I could. No need to push it overly, no need to be too slow & sit behind traffic either.
So I had a play around the A470/A5 "over t'ops" etc, and stopped every now & again for a photo opportunity. Sometimes I made it less than a mile before the next stop  I also stopped off at one stage to take photo's, and an old timer walked over & started chatting about bikes. I must of spent a good 45mins sat on the bike just talking to him. He looked a little shocked when I said the bike was a commuter doing 24k miles a year  as he said he'd only done 500miles in the last 2 years on his "wing" Kind of got that warm feeling about humanity, times like that make you realise that not everyone is just living life to get the most out of it for themselves.
I saw a fair amount of other bikers on the road (post dragon run), and a rare sight for these parts, I followed an SV1000 for a short while on the A55. Silver with rider & pillion in matching black/green 'ninja' textiles on. The bike was a CX54 plate. In case it was anyone from here.
I was going to go down to Llanberis for a while, but as I started getting closer, the heavens opened, so I took that as time to head home.
Damn nice ride, pics here (http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m135/baph_2006/11-02-2007/). The eagle eyes amongst you will see that I even managed to find some snow! I love my bike  & I need to make more time for leisurely bimbles on the bike!
Apologies to all that are stuck with rain, but :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

I'm putting myself in for some mickey taking, but it absolutely p*ssed down all day, not a single clear spot in the sky. Paraphrasing that great English gentleman who occasionally disguises himself as Spanish, "Fooking Portugal"!
