Shame we dont a small local track around here. Does anyone know any other secret spots, big carparks, runways or areas with plenty of space to mess about on...

Have any of you have ever been down to Wisley Airfield? (first turn left off the A3 after the M25) - was just having a look at it on the google map and found some threads on google relating to Supermoto guys riding up there. Apparently its been disused for many years now. Was looking for somewhere to practice my wheelies :-dd

Not sure, but surely there has to be some army ground somewhere in the aldershot/deepcut area that could be used?

It's not unused mate, it's often used by the police as a training ground for pursuit stuff, Genesis Rider training use it and it's also sealed off and has security guards at the entrance ;-)

Cool - interesting to know its still being used.

It looks as thought the site has recently been sold - probably for houses

hey that would be cool - build your house next to it and every day you could come out and mess around on the bike 8)

you could try Popham airfield (http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=50138) where the sv1000ers meet, though its down south.

Its just of the M3...

Has anyone been down to the Mercedes world where they have revamped some of the old Brooklands track. I think this is an old pic (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Brooklands,+West+Molesey,+Surrey,+United+Kingdom&ie=UTF8&sll=53.098145,-2.443696&sspn=11.785376,29.619141&z=15&ll=51.350852,-0.470138&spn=0.011954,0.043001&t=k&om=1)

I think the guards there would be too pricey though

There is a private road I sometimes use (just off the Longcross Roundabout) but its a bit wet and muddy at the moment.

I was just checking what it looks like on the Map .

 All this time and I never knew what was right next to it - Map (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Longcross&sll=51.364386,-0.604248&sspn=0.047802,0.172005&ie=UTF8&z=15&ll=51.381504,-0.583949&spn=0.011946,0.043001&t=k&om=1)

It is or was the test track at Leyland Technical Centre. when first built in 79/80 the track was too smooth and had to be resurfaced.

I don't think it is used any more as I think LTC now do all their vehicle tests in eastern europe.

Did some snooping here and its now used mainly by corporate testers (McClaren, Ferrari, Police etc). Apparantly TVAM are the only bike group that use the test pad (why dont WVAM run these courses BTW???). The outer track is now only used by cars as there was a biker fatality a little while back.

Its still run by QinetiQ who lease out various parts of the site for whatever business you care to be involved in. Yesterday there was a film crew there blowing up a car and a bloke in a Porsche doing laps on the Pad (apparently you get free driving lessons there for a day if you buy one ) .

Cost to book the a weekend in is a little over £700. BUT Public liability needs to be in place (6Mil+) and a risk assessment needs to be done.... arh rules me out then.

Yup. I know they have a motorcycling school, and they obv use it for TG, but what else do they use the track for?

Um, I don't know if it's a regular thing but there's a few lorries using it to get to the businesses on dunsfold, plus there's a guard on the entrance of Dunsfold Park.

Congrats on passing your test

Def. get another one :D

I went to Infinity the other day in Farnborough and they had three curvy faired k2 SV's all blue all lined up together and at the same price, I had to do a double take on it, they also had a few pointy sv's but they do charge alot, keep your eye on the for sale section for a bargin.

Not sure on the degree of legality, but there is an area called Rushmore arena on the road between Fleet and Aldershot.

There's a standing quarter and a timetrial track. There are quite a few car club meets here. You can see it from the road. It's just pass the end of Farnborough airfield runway on the Aldershot side.

And just behind that is a short circuit track used by Farnborough sports car club. Barriers, tyre walls etc, but very tight and no run-off.

I was very pleased to hear that RAF Northolt hold track days for bikes as I'm literally across the road from it. I was rather displeased to hear that they have a new C.O. who doesn't want them anymore. I've been riiding for four years and never lived more than 3 miles away and just when I hear about it they stop doing it! DOH! I will pop over there and ask cos apparently it was really cheap.
