Gday.
Some nice biking roads over Exmoor I seem to remember.:)
Welcome Lisa, good choice of bike there. The South West bunch often go out on the odd (and even) blat around. You are more than welcome to join us. Keep and eye on this area and you'll see the rideouts posted.
http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=121
Coming up there is the Poole Quay, Bristol MoFos meet most Thursdays and the Welsh Taffia meet also. The next 'big' ridout is the Porlock run. There is a sticky for all of these.
We tend not to race on rideouts and will always try and make sure that we do not loose anyone as we use a marker system thats explained on the start of the ride.
Have fun!

Welcome to the site!
I can vouch that the S&W Surfers are a good bunch, seeing as I've abused their hospitality for a weekend in the past!
Watch out for that Stretchie though... :smt075
Thanks for the replys, been sitting home alone today, no bike, waiting for the new one (collect next weekend) and feeling pretty miserable!
Passed test last year and been riding an old honda 400 4 that someone gave me. A friend was nice enough to get it running and so been pootling around Somerset for a while on that.
Test rode the new bike this weekend and wayhay....., the difference been old and new is amazing! Glad you don't seem to act the lad on ride outs, need to improve my riding loads and get used to having brakes and actually being able to start first time!
Anyone near to Wincanton?

Hi there, welcome to the site.Like the others have said there's plenty that goes on in the area so get yourself along to one of the ride outs and introduce yourself.
Welcome,
A damsel in distress? I'm just repeating what the others said but the South West knights on their metal horses should rescue you.
Anyone help a girl in distress? What kind of dress is it?
Welcome by the way

Yep, just up the road! Would love to meet up sometime.
Thanks for all the hello's.
Anyone noticed how they seem to be putting up CCTV cameras to watch the speedcameras, just 'cus, for no apparent reason, people seem to want to vandalise them? Noticed on the A37 and A303 today.
Also fed up with BMW drivers today cutting me up on the A303, as if going to Slough wasn't enough to put up with today, (that should offend all BMW drivers and people from Slough, but hey!)

Offend away...we all know slough is a ****-hole :p. Well its actually just a dual carriageway through an industrial estate with a series of kebab establishments:)

Welcome Lisa,
I can also vouch for most of the mutley (sorry South West) crew, having spent some riding time with them in the past...
There's nought wrong with Slough that a biological weapon couldn't sort out, but be careful, as I only live a few miles away (and so does the Queen).
Oh, and knocking BMW drivers is my job... I bet it was a 3 series, in either dark blue or black (the silver ones seem to be driven by old men wearing hats...)
Enjoy your stay...
Thanks for all the hello's.

Today has been tractors, horses and very, very, very, very slow lorries over the Mendips.
Weekend looms closer for collecting the new bike......got two days in Wolverhampton to struggle through first!
Want bike, want bike, want bike....
