Hi folks,

Just buying my first SV650, collect next weekend...yippee!

Moved to Somerset through work, don't know anyone and looking for like minded people for rides, friendship, help with the bike and few laughs.

Anyone help a damsel in distress?

Whereabouts in Somerset are you ?

Welcome to the site.

Not far from Wincanton.

Got an old Honda 400 4 at the moment, but is near to giving up the ghost! Passed test last year and was given to me for free, so was using it until I found the right bike.

You will have to bear with me as new to both this forum thing and SV riding!

Can only get better.

Where are you to?

I'm in Yeovil, just down the A303 from you. Another forum member "Viper" is in Bruton which isnt far from you either.

You'll soon get the hang of it, both the SV and the forum :D

Have no worries with the bike, comapred to my old one it is like a ferrari after having a mini!

Was riding around Bristol yesterday with a hugh grin on my face, the temptation to blast was unreal, but am a sensible lass (most of the time!).

The SWS are a good bunch, you'll be welcome on all rideouts.

Just a thought. Which model, colour etc is the new SV. i.e. faired, pointy, curvy?

I take it if you were riding around Bristol, your getting your bike from Fowlers maybe ?

If you want stuff done on it. Pop along to V & J Suzuki in Mudford ( 30 minutes ride at max from you ) and tell them I sent you. I bought my GSXR from there and they've looked after that and my SV, they also look after my girlfriends SV and she bought her Duke from them, their chief mechnic Barry is a gem and they always do a great job on our bikes.

Thanks, you are an angel. Can ride the bike and do the basics but as a girly as paranoid about being ripped off.

Bath nearly ready and about to jump in, so catch you later.

Take aways being to get boring after a while, as does staying in hotels which I do frequently (although the freebies are ok). Can't beat home cooking, with pudding and several bottles on wine.

Bath is definately running over now...see ya!

Hi there Lisa. You've made a good choice on the bike and welcome to the site!

As you've been to Bristol you know where it is so theres no excuse for you not to come down to the Roo on Thursdays and say hi! And don't worry we don't bite...

Will try, but cover the south west through work and can be anywhere in the car so is sometimes hard to get back in time during the week to get out for a blast.

My company seem to think the south west includes Wolverhampton, Derby and Kent!

hello and welcome to the site lisa.. the bristol Mofo crew are always around somewhere and come summer they are normally up for a blat out.

.. I sadly have moved to the big smoke but if your ever around this way in your "south west" territory you know where to find a friendly face;)

I used to live and ride in Bristol so if you need to know of local garages that wont rip you off give me a shout!!

But as has been said above pop your head round the door of the Roo on a Thursday night and say hello to the gang.

Very true if you happen to stray to the other side of the bridge without the Brizzle lot for protection ;) They don't bite much.
