I'm working now. No, our company haven't taken over the .org & installed new software, only TSM is to blame for that!

Might also be flying to Chicago this weekend for the best part of a month too. I'll find out about that tomorrow, hopefully.

Anyway, sorry for the derail

I reckon that's a top idea!

Not saying anything about your cleaning skills here Paws, but I mean, we're talking about Kwak cleaning a bike...

That way, your bike is shinyer then when it left the showroom, ready for the photo shoot. Kwak could also get the pride of seeing the advert & thinking "I sort of know her, and that bike's the result of my elbow grease. I cleaned that bike."

Sort of a claim to fame thing ;)

UPDATE:

"Where, when and how?
You need to be at Caernarfon Airfield for 9.30am on Saturday 10th March 2007

Ready for your close up?
Once you've registered it'll be time for your glamorous life as a TV star to begin - which basically means a lot of hanging round and occasionally being shouted at by a man in a woolly hat.
And remember, we do need you to be around for the whole day - so please bring appropriate clothing for a winter's day in North Wales.
Don't forget to bring:
• Copy of your current insurance certificate - sorry, but no certificate, no taking part
• Plenty of fuel - we won't have time for pit stops
• All weather clothing - safety permitting, we'll be filming whatever the weather. "

Hoi5 how far fronm Northampton/ where abouts in N wales is that??

Paws, it's pretty close to me :D North East corner of North Wales.

Your best bet will be up the M6, left onto the M56, continue on the A55 to Bangor, then down the A487 to Caernarfon . Taking it easy, it should take you around 4 hours. The only roadworks I'm aware of on the A55, last for a couple of hundred yards. Nothing else over this way to slow you down (watch out for police on bridges ;) )

EDIT: Another option is the A5, but generally that's a little slower, and if you get stuck behind something whilst you're towing the bike, you're screwed. A better road for the bike though ;) I'll check out the more northerly part of the A5 for you this weekend, see what it's like for roadworks & traffic etc.

I'm not sure if I'll have any free time that weekend (or if you will), but I can happily point out some good biking roads in the area ;)

If you fancy a cuppa etc, the house is about 30-40mins from the airfield, and you're welcome to my number. Just that the house could be a little insane with the kids running around.

What kind of money you looking at spending? There's some NICE places to stay (with a pricetag to match), then anything down to YHA's.

I would offer you to crash at mine, but unfortunately not an option at the moment.

Them be even better biking roads then.

If you can, leave the 4x4 in Betws-y-coed, and take the bike out early saturday. I would anyway.

From Betws-y-coed, head north on the A5 to Capel Curig, swing left onto the A4086. From there, you can either sit on that & hit Bangor, cutting off a big corner on a road that's not really known by tourists ;) (except Llanbaris). Alternatively, left onto the A498, down past Llyn Dinas, to Beddgelert. From there, right onto the A4085 for a nice twisty section just after Llyn Cwellyn & that drops you straight into Caernarfon. Left onto the A487 & then pickup signs for the airfield.

The route via Beddgelert will take a fair bit longer, but if it's any use to you, that's my playground :D So I can do some timing runs happily (gives me an excuse to play ;) )

Ahhhh I know the 10th was nagging at me when I put my hand up for another evening of practising Welsh. Still if the weather's nice and I finish the bike this weekend, I might mosey over to say hi!

I have spare rooms if you stuck (but a bit of a detour) for somewhere to stay. Horse is out on loan still, so only the dogs as added attraction.

Pa! bloody foreigner! :) To a Welshman it's 10 minutes up a main road to my village. OK there are no white lines, but you can get two cars past each other in most places. :-D

Right, I've been out playing a little this morning. :)

Paws, just for info really, but if you do stay in Betws-y-coed, expect it to take you around 30mins to get to the airfield. Maybe 45mins because you're not sure of the area. I've just been from Bangor down through Betws-y-coed & back up to Llandudno. From Bangor to Betws-y-coed it's around 27miles, so not much more from Betws-y-coed to Caernarfon.

Personally, I'd come up the A5 towards Bangor, but turn left at Capel Curig (outdoor sports shop right on the junction, in front of you). Follow that road for a couple of miles, past 2 lakes. The second lake (IIRC) has a T junction on it (you're on the main road, another road comes to join it). Turn right here & follow it up over Snowdon to drop down into Llanberis. I really can't recommend this road enough. It's the place I go when life is getting on top of me, just makes everything insignificant (labelled on most maps as "Pass of Llanberis", but others show it as "Pont-y-pass"). However, a word of warning, avoid the temptation to look at the scenery. I know the area & still ran wide on a left hander at the bottom of the pass (Llanberis side). From here, follow your nose & hit Caernarfon. Swing south to go down to the airfield.

If the weather is nice, you definately won't regret taking the bike on that route! However, don't go over Pont-y-pass with the discovery, it'd just be a nightmare. So if you're taking the discovery & trailer to the airfiled, go the Beddgelert route I mentionned in a previous post.

If you want more accurate directions to the airfield, give me a shout, it'll only take me about 30mins, so can be done anytime.

Right, time to go do some chain maintenance, then more playtime over Pont-y-pass before dark :)
