Born again
24-02-07, 12:42 PM
Thought I would say Hi and introduce myself. Back on a bike after far to many years. Some say "born again" others might say "seen the light". Started riding tuned 250 two stokes, fun but rubber frames didnt help. The SV is light years ahead, I dont know why people need to tweak them I think the frame is spot on.
Also why do some people put down so called "born again" riders. People leave and come back to bikes for many reasons and the riding community should welcome all, new or old. On the whole I have found bikers to be a very friendly and helpfull bunch.

Hi mate, welcome to the site.
I wouldn't worry about getting stick for being a 'born-again; biker, there's all age groups of bikers on here, some new riders, some who've been off bikes for a while before seeing the light & getting back the saddle ;) and some older, lifelong bikers. Things would be pretty dull if we were all the same!
Hi and welcome Don't worry your not the only one I was or still am a born again biker, I had a 10 year break form bikes but have been back on one for 5 years and loving it!!

Welcome to the asylum, I had a 16 year sabbatical (and it really shows). So I'm a BAB as well.
I returned on an SVS K5 pointy and loved it so much I did 10K miles in 7 months. She's now been adopted by Mrs neighbour Kamakazy (the other half of Triumphumphumph o here).
The SV is a fantastic bike, I really miss mine, but not its replacement ;)

My riding shows I've been away to long as well, was a lot quicker when I was twenty but fell off a lot then (young and stupid) now older wiser and want to stay right side up, it hurts less that way!!!!!

Welcome... I was dead for 21 years before I was born again... there's a right time for most things and it was the right time for me to get back on two wheels 3 years ago... Hope you enjoy your return as much as I have.

You leave him alone, the country needs us late bloomers... We tend to be the ones with "disposable income"... (And my Mrs knows how to dispose of it too )
