Was going to fit z6's however they had run out of rear z6's , as my rear tyre has 0.5 mm on and was well dodgy in this monsoon season we are having , decided to go for Diablo Strada's .

I was told that they are very similar to the Z6's .

Price wise the z'6 were 172 a pair & Strada's 175 ride in ride out .

Have searched for Diablo Strada's on the forum ,seems that most people use the Z6's

Any Diablo Starda users out there , who can advise of tyre life etc .

Initial 50 mile ride on flooded roads , revealed that tyres are stable , slightly slower turn in than std diablo & get warmer in the poor conditions that the std diablos. The Stradas have a deeper tread depth than std diablos therefore hoping for 7k - 8k rear tyre life?

pervious tyres were std diablos which were great , got 5800 out of the rear , front had 1.5 mm left when changed , however need a bit more tyre life and a tyre that warms up quicker and stays warmer in this c##p weather

Cheers Steve

Done 250 miles , mostly raining .

Got 50 dry miles today , really impressed with the grip available considering the temperature , tyres got really warm .

We'd be interested to know what your wear rate is like with these. We run with Diablo's and are lucky to get more than 3,000 out of a rear, being two-up all the time.

I'll let you know how the stradas wear, my std diablo rear lasted 5800 , the front was gone aswell.
hoping for 7-8k ,should last this as the strada rear has an extra 2mm of tread compared with std diablos
cheers steve

Just done first 1000 miles on the strada's .

The rear did let go once , conditions were terrible , road flooded & only let go once in 200 mile road so recon must of hit some oil etc as it went without warning .

Have managed to get to within 2mm of the rear tyre & have scraped boots , considering the weather has not been that great , that seems fine to me.

No noticable wear showing yet

Cheers Steve

My stradas have done about 3000 miles and are in great condition, they resist flattening off well. Only time I've had them slide is in snow/slush and when accelerating across roadpaint or wet drain covers. Every time they've picked up grip well after the slide.

The general opinion is that the Z6 and strada are the same tyre compound with different name and tread pattern. Pirelli own Metzeler (or is it the other way around?) so it makes sense.

Recommendation I had for the stradas was to run them at 34 front/36 rear (though many people run Z6's much higher than that - 36/42 or something) and to get the best life on an SV, make sure the bike's moving before you give it any beans - they'll last a long time unless you're using the throttle like a lightswitch away from a standing start every time.

The Strada is the smae as the Z6. I have a Z6 front and Strada rear (Due to a puncture 800 miles in :( As for milage, no idea, its not worn out yet.

However, it really depends on the type of riding you do. If its mainly through town, you will eat tyres, expect no more than about 5-7k. If a lot of motorway/A road riding, then somewhere upa round 10k!
