not a fan. it gives me gut rot so not had any for about 20 years.
A few weeks ago I tried half a banana and survived with only minor tummy ache and managed a full apple yesterday with some discomfort immediatly afterwards, major gut rot during the night,However, it actually tasted quite pleasant.
Well this morning the wife sneaked some strawberries into my breakfast. Took all of 3 nanoseconds to spot. They taste disgusting. Thank god I didn't swallow any my guts would have broken out of my body and left the county.
Why do people keep saying that you should eat this stuff when it plainly is not good for my health.
Am I on my own. Or are there others out there scared of sticking their heads above the parapet to say that this fruit stuff is not good for some of us.
Don't get me wrong. I love veg (With the exception of sprouts and broad beans). But nature obviously designed me to be a carnivore
bananas give me headache
I must stop sticking them up my nose.
Oranges can do to.
I actually don't like fruit, but force myself to eat it sometimes because like you say apparently its good for you :)

You're not alone, Mr. Wilky. When I was a wee lad my granny used to feed me the "eat apples, they're good for you" talk. So I did. And I used to have major stomach aches that lasted all night long, the ones that simply won't go away for years.
Then I grew up, and like most teenagers started skimping on the fruit. Including apples. And my aches vanished, but I didn't associate one thing with the other.
A few years ago I woke up this fine morning, stumbled across some lovely green apples standing all alone in the kitchen, and since I actually like the taste I decided I'd start the day with one. 2 hours later I was throwing up all over the shop, 15 days later my stomach came back to normal. Oh, btw, it was 1 week till chrimbo, so I had to skip all the treats because I couldn't even stand to look at them :smt078 :(
So you're not alone. And my grandmother still tells me "eat fruit, it's good for you"!
i love all fruit exept oranges.......as they give me the poo's:shock:
Sounds like you may have allergies to either citrus or whatever that sugar is that's in fruit...

If you're not used to eating something then it can give you gut-rot when you do. It you eat it regularly, your gut will adjust to cope.
I love fruit. It's mostly what I eat during the day.

i eat tons of the stuff.
I eat a banana, two oranges and two or three pears every day - come to mention it they do give you the runs a bit! must dash :D
I eat loads of fruit. Generally get a bunch of bananas and a bag each of satsumas and apples every couple of days to much away at work.
Same at home as well as melons, pineapples, and the occasional oddity to keep it interesting.

When I eat apples or bananas I am burping for ages afterwards. They just seem to fill me with gas  But I still eat them because they are good for me:rolleyes:
I'm ok with other things like oranges, kiwi, strawberry etc.

I always feel loads better when I eat a reasonable amount of fruit, but rarely actually do. Bought myself a blender a couple of weeks ago to make diy smoothies, and it's ace! All the goodness of getting plenty of fresh fruit in a quick drink in the morning. :D
I'm quite the other way, i can eat loads of fruit with no ill effects but the mearest hint of a vegtable has me puking. The smell of cabbages, sprouts or worst of all cauliflower cooking is enought to set me off. :(
Chris
Cherries, grapes and pomegranates...............that's the only fruit I like. I really can't eat citrus fruits, and even the smell of oranges makes me feel ill:(
On the other hand, I absolutely love vegetables. Can't think of any I don't like.
An apple a day for me. I eat a lot dried fruit as well (can be bought in large quantities thus reducing trips to the shops) dates and raisins mainly.

I can eat fruit, veg and meat, does this make me the odd one out on this forum of freaks and weirdos? :)
Today I think it'll be banana, apple, raw carrot, pie for lunch, salad, steak and tatties for tea. With possible choccy bars and packets of crisps. And some beer/wine/tea/coffee.
