View Full Version : Jo Whiley
Just been listening to Radio 1...
She was asked Jo what she's wearing.
Her response? "Biker boots, jeans, no knickers & a top"
Erm. Why would you say that much detail on radio?
Fair play for the biker boots though, I know she commutes by "bike taxi" a fair amount.
Carry on folks, having a bored moment in the office :) Wait, I'm in the office, I'm having a normal moment :)

Erm. Why would you say that much detail on radio?
Because she can.
I listen to radio one..... but turn over to radio two when Jo Whiley is on, can't stand her self importance. She thinks she is the new John Peel .... and she IS NOT!
rant over
Tomcat, I actually quite like her, but then, personal choice I suppose. Coxy is far far better IMO, but Whiley is alright.

I consider myself to be a fairly red blooded male, but details like that just aren't needed. Still, her choice & all, just doesn't do anything for her reputation IMO.

yes I like coxy too ..... she's a bloky chick, which is always good ;) yet still has her girlie points
There are quite a few comments on the radio (1 in particular) that would be funny in the pub, at work blar blar blar... but just don't sound right on the radio, your example being one

And John Peel would never publicly announce his penchant for going commando.
i am not wearing any undercrackers either.
fact.

i can't stand her and her smugness either

fact.
I wondered what that was hanging out the bottom of your trouser leg.
I must just point out that KD is not overly well endowed. He just has really short hot pants on.

That makes two of us then...

not overly, just well.
not overly, just well.
I'm glad we publicly cleared that up.

many a loose end is being cleared up today.
its cris moyles i dont like, i did used to like him but now think he is a ****
so there
I don't listen to Radio 1 that much any more. I am fast becoming an old fart so tend to listen to Radio 3 and 4 more than anything these days.
I think Jo Whiley trys a bit too hard to maintain her "Rock Chick" image.
She is a very attactive lady and I find the fact she not wearing pants mildly exciting. Doing it is one thing, announcing it to the nation is another.
As for John Peel liked the man a lot. Even forgave him for pushing in front of me in the queue to get off the IOM ferry, TT week 1994. I am unsure of what his underwear status was at that time.

I used to listen to the Radio all day at work. The thing with Radio 1 is the play the same damn tunes over and over again. During a DJ session he/she will play x,y and z then the next DJ's will play z,y and x then x followed by y then z.
To quote a cliche.....change the damn record. If it does get to a good tune they mostly talk over it and cut it miles short anyway.
As for DJ's , is Sarah Cox Welsh or what as I cannot understand a word she say's! ( No offence to the Welsh )
Started Listening to Radio 2, with smug Jeremy Vine which lasted 5 minutes.
Now I work next to a private airfield and reception is rubbish. Though you sometimes pick up some odd conversations on the radio between pilots.
Best I heard was about someone trying to land in the pig farm opposite us.:-s
tip
listen to radio 6

I hope your aircraft recognition is better than your accent recognistion. Sara Cox is from Bolton in Lacashire, which makes her English. Just not one of your southern jessies! 8)

I tend to listen to Radio 4 and occasionally 2 when I want music. But never when that old irish to55er is on. I just wish he would p1ss off and leave Johnny Walker to replace him permanently
i am not wearing any undercrackers either.

Never thought I'd say this, but Chris Evans is the best thing to happen to Radio 2 in ages. Great show.
Radio 4 in the mornings, 5 Live on the way into work, Radio 2 on the way home.

have to nod to the jabbster here, the chap (chris evans) has matured greatly over the last few years, gone from being a legend to being a c0ck to being pretty damned good again.

Either Jo Whiley or Maryann Hobbs used to own a silver SV, can't remember which though.
it was maryanne hobgoblin that owneded an SV
Jo Wiley - love her show - mainly the live lounges. She also has some good interviews to boot. She has keeps me company at work most days for the last couple of years. I think you need to be opinionated to do her job and I dont find her condescending. I like her smooth voice -but also dont find her overtly sexy or ott. I heard that comment and I think she was just winding up Scott Mills...
Chris Moyles is great in the morning. Good team banter which I like. Dominic Byrne is hillarious I think.
Sarah Cox I cant stand - too crude for me and cant stand her humour or 25 a day voice.
Zane Low - the new music messiah. Always interesting music, straight up and does the John Peel new music thing but at the other end of the intensity scale.

I agree with both those statements Chris Moyles and his team are brilliant by the time i get to work i am awake and laughing.
Sara Cox just gets on my nerves

Probably brown - according to his auto/biog, he was rushing back home as his wife had just had a brain haemorrhage. So you were witness to a bit of rock history. (She survived and made a full recovery, btw)

My missus 'loves' Moyles, bought his book (which is ****,) but she still thinks he's funny on the radio...
TBH I don't mind Whiley either, but as someone else has already pointed out, Radio 1 is just the same playlist in a different order every day...
I also like Edith Bowman... Her show is good!
Colin Murray is also worth a listen, his 'Music Black Hole (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio1_aod.shtml?radio1/murray_blackhole)' feature is pure genius!
