Indeed they are, and so cheap these days, it's not worth bothering about the older type.

They can vary in accuracy though, I bought a £2.99 no-brand one for an old PC of mine and it's not a patch on my Logitech one, it jumps all over the place when you try & use it slowly & accurately. You gets what you pay for...

unscrew the bottom, there will be about 2 or 3 rollers in there.
use your finger nail to scrape off the crud, then re-assemble,

should be like new.

also, get an optical one, there only a few quid,and are much better.

ive used a microsoft optical for years and it never give me any problems.

i bought a advent (pc world) about 20 months i play a lot of online gaming(bf2)its got a re-charable cradle so charges when not in use its the bee's knee's an it cost less than twenty quid

doh! You use the mouse on the desk, don't rub it up and down the screen, you won;t be able to see what you are doing
