They are sold by BanditMania .
Ben
Ah cool same as mine. I've set mine up about .5cm below their max height and as far out as they will go.

To ease aching backs. Not all of us are super fit and/or young.
Although my brother is 12 years younger he constantly complains of back problems especially in traffic. Higher bars do help when going slow. When you have the road to yourself and you're past 50mph low bars are ok as you seem to go light and the wind sort of pushes you a bit back.
For me it's my wrists that hurt after a while, kinda the bottom bone gets a bit battered and these help out. Also gives a slightly more upright position which is more comfy in town.
They can be adjusted to give about 2-2.5cm raise over the std items, also as they don't lock on to the bottom of the yolk you can adjust their angle a bit as well. I've also put on the R6 throttle with both grips which are slightly wider for my large hands, all small and subtle but make life easier.
Can you please attach a photo of the grips, I'm interested in doing this mod.
Still have part numbers?
I used these part numbers:
left hand grip : 4YR-26241-02-00
right hand grip and throttle tube : 5SL-26240-01
You need to mod the right hand throttle grip a bit to fit on a pointy, try searching the forum for R6 throttle mod.
The mod also reduces the amount of twist required to get to full throttle.
I used this company and costs about £15 for both delivered : 0117 977 0466 (ah probably not for Malta :p)
Thanks Dan, If you can post pictures I'll stil like to see what they look like. I have a curvy myself so I guess it shouldn't be a problem to fit. Just asked local dealer to quote. You don't know what year of R6 goes with these grips by any chance?
Think it's from the '03 model, the US Yamaha site allows you to see the parts by bike (unlike the UK site).

There's a couple of numbers for the right hand grip and it looks like either works.
Don't have any clear pics of them though.
Ok Thanks mate. You've been most helpfull.

Thanks for your reply, but I have taken the risk as I just bought them, so I should receive them next week and hopefuly get them mounted for the next weekend. Well hope that I solve the problem with them as they are a bit bloody expensive!!

You have given me a peace of mind, 100 miles are quite a lot, for us here its like going round our tiny island Malta for two times if not more, thanks mate.
We ran into some little problems with installing these items onto the curvy s.
Fully up the throttle side gets the kill switch touching the windshield on full lock. We've had to shave off some of the perspex. Also, in order to replicate the Original's angle which is the most comfortable, the left hand side clip-on fastening screw started touching the tank! So I made a sort of 'U' bracket from aluminum to add more to the frame's steering lock point. All done it certainly looks the business and the bars look very high quality. Looks sort of a little VFR :) Pitty it starting raining hard tonight, so going out for a test ride was ruled out. Hopefully tomorrow will be nicer weather. Simon's supposed to upload some pictures and details. I'm done, goodnight guys.

post a pic as id like to see how youve done it compared to mine as i didnt have to shave anything of the bike just had to make a s bracket for the cable running down to the front wheel as it raised its original
Ah but remember that you've got a pointy and my brother a curvy. It seems that a pointy is kinder to clip-on alterations as the front fairing is a bit higher and more forward than curvy's. Took it for a ride today and said it feels great on the back but needs some getting used to. More miles and we'll see how he likes them then. I'm guessing they're there for good. Maybe I should cut out a sticker for him, SVFR :)
Lower footpegs next Simon?
Update 19/03/07:
We spent a whole day running about today and Simon let me ride the bike and let me tell you it feel great. Suzuki should put the risers as an option and forget all about the vstrom, the SV looks loads better.
Regarding the windscreen problem I thought of posting this picture to show the alteration we had to make in order to avoidmit hitting the bars on full extension.

I'd like to buy the plastic choke lever as I filed the original a bit too enthusiastically so as not to hit the windscreen. I guess I should post this in the WANTED section, or maybe just buy it new. Well if you're reading this and broke your bike to sell as spares contact me.
