Never let me down yet. As for the weapiness, are you sure its not just trapped. I had this issue after taking it off. Take off the cover and install the gasket into the cover and not left on the engine. HTH

I have purchased one from Robinsons, the gasket was not trapped, it has just stretched and also the case has been overtightened so the cover was not being held closed properly due to the litle metal inserts overhanging the edge of the cover, so I filed them down.

I just used universal blue myself. But I possibly shouldn't admit to that :)

You surprise me Northy. Used to use Hermatite on my brit bike cos the mating faces were always warped but on a Swiss watch bit of machinery...............:smt075

Well, I got a new gasket but the cover's a tad warped so I just gave it a wee smear, works a charm. No particular reason not to really :)
