Probably going on a mission to check out a campsite at Rhayader saturday morning.
Anyone fancy a swift run up there? Be leaving Portishead about 10am, Abergavenny about 10.30 am.

Its about 100 miles there for me, longer going by little roads.

Sorry Rich - count me out.

I'd normally be interested but, tbh, I doubt that I'll be able to shift my lardy @rse out of the armchair and away from the rugger on the goggle-box.

Have a good trip.

I intend to be mostly sleeping in tomorrow morning nursing a hangover from well deserved beerconsumed tonight following a very busy week in the office. I'll be out on the bike in the afternoon though :)

I had planned to get up at the sound of a sparrows' fart and venture over the bridge to the Dragons Den; It's 07:30 now, but why, why, why did I have to drink so much last night??? I need to clear my head, and for that reason -I'm out.

Me and VB had a cracking run, nice and quick. Bit chilly at times. Found the campsite and checked out the area, lovely all around Elan way.

Think may have seen Beenz on way back twixt Chepstow/ Usk? If so, tut tut what a late start ;)

Vix and I did Bristol to Gloucester on the A38 which was absolutely crawling with coppers (at least 6 vehicles staged along the route). Then A48 to Chepstow before taking the old bridge back and the Aust road.

The Welsh part of the route was lovely isn't it.

Should be out again tomorrow with the in-laws in tow (Cruisers). Anyone got plans for tomorrow?

What he said, apart from the tyre bit.

But I would have to take it a little easy as I'm scrubbing a front in. (My old one was well done for, not alot of tread left at all, I'd forgotten how flickable the bike was; its turning I unbelievably fast again!)

Vix tells me we're supposed to meet the out-laws at high noon, that'll be in Wooton Basset. Apparently they don't want to go "too far" so I think you guys would be well advised to give it a miss, sounds like it will be a snooze-a-thon.

I had Wales on my mind, Aber at least...

Then again, I could still say b******* to it and head over to Aber anyway. Hmmmm... BBC Weather says cloudy but dry, AccuWeather says brilliant sunshine.

Decisions, decisions....

M32... yes, 3:00ish... yes, HG leathers (red n white, with the gixer blue and white)... yes, GSXR1000 K6 ... yes, seat cowl... err.. no (seat is quite small so you might have missed it). Was heading from J n S to Abergavenny being followed by a black trumpet Daytona. Where you on the bike? I did clock a blue pointy IIRC although I think that might have been on the A4174 on the way to the M32. Lots of bikes out today :smt026

Now tomorrow....

Now tomorrow....

I would be up for a little bimble tomorrow, don't mind if its over the boarder as I shall be down that way any way. The only thing I would say is I won't be doing early...

I am going to try and not go out on the bike a just have a potter about in garden etc but come lunchtime I may be bored

I did wave Beenz, but the brain was processing was that you and therefore should I turn round and try and catch you somewhere so it may not have been early enough.

the white rabbit
11-03-07, 01:26 PM
If you boys would rather go over Aber rather than Weston do go ahead, I'm not too bothered about a run. But if you come Weston collect me en route.

Edit, I have time to get to Gordano. Meeting you there about 30 mins after you leave Nam

I went off on my own this morning, did the run to Aber on that nice wiggly section via Usk, then back to meet Vix, then off to Swindon, then all over that way and finally back to Bristol.

Clocked up about 300 miles or so. Lovely days riding!!!

I had a horrible time.

Beenz and S-H have no respect for the rules of the road or for posted speedlimits.

And a horrid man on a red GSXR passed us going fast in a straight line.

Awful days riding, got stuck behind some cheese in Cheddar, stopped for the usual MoFo diet of ice cream then off to Weston Super Mud for chips.

I also got overtaken by a 'little' gixer in a straight line on the Brizzle A 4174 ring road, I think he got a tad eggy after I went round the outside of him on a roundabout using the 'Squirrel' manouver... and then again on another one after he passed me on the straight (again). I dunno kids eh.

Anyone can go fast in a straight line, even me ;)

Doc, next time we go riding the trails, let me know, I was standing on the pegs to keep up on the 'roads' even then me spuds got hammered going over one lump.:shaking:

Terrible ride just terrible, at least my front tyres almost finished being scrubed in.

As for that Gixer Six I wouldn't have bothered if I'd known it wasn't a Thou :D

Rich may I point you to the definition of road, "a smoothed or paved surface, made for traveling by motor vehicle" - I feel we will agree to disagree on this ;)
