Courtesy of my very kind and helpful neighbour I am now the proud owner of an extremely modestly priced and quite bijou Lidl tankbag.
Anybody know where I can get some stuff to put under it to stop it from scratching the tank?
Anybody? Ralph? Anybody?

Nice one Kat! Failing that, you could visit any pound shop e.g. Poundland and get some anti-slip mat on a roll (£1 clever eh?) in a similar colour to your bike if you don't fancy black. Oh yes, and I know the bags black anyway, but I wouldn't bet against it.

Even Tesco Extra sell the anti slip mats for about a pound.

Poundland? Do I look like the sort of person who even knows where Poundland is? What if I met a working class person?
And Tesco extra? That's in Pollock!
No, no, never look a gift horse in the mouth, a PM is on the way to you Kitkat. Many, many thanks.

Looks like I'm a bit late in answering this one. I got my stuff in Jim Allans, but most bike accessory shops do it.

Scottish bike show will sell a big sheet for a fiver. Halfords sell about foot square for about same price.
However, the magnets on the base of the tankbag wont pick up the metal on the other side so you'll have to bungee it on.

I use wonderweb and have a Fieldsheer "Eiffel" tankbag (its just the wee top zip on section you'll have seen on rideouts - great value piece of kit for £50). Because it's a web not a solid mat, the magnets on that have no bother holding the tankbag, even when fully loaded as in the picture, and protruding above the screen in a windblast at well over a ton. Took it down to Blackpool like that last year and it never moved.

Thanks a lot :smt058
I didn't really want a tea towel or some piece of junk from down the market caressing my tank, I wanted something sleek and sexy like Ralph's! You know, to hold on my crappy Lidl tankbag.
Makes no sense even to me...
