View Full Version : I Love Autosol!
Tough choice today. Use the lovely weather to ride, or to give the SV a much needed clean. I chose door number two and got the hose out. My wheels used to have a mirror finish on the outer rims until the winter got hold of them and grubbed them out. However, I waged war on the grime today armed with fine steel wool, Autosol and a pile of elbow grease and... result!
Shiny!

I've bought some autosol today, so, got the day off tomorrow, have to pop to Halfords & get me some wire wool do the downpipes & if I've got time I will do the wheels too :)

Easy mate. This stuff takes time. Take one job at a time as its not that easy to get a mirror finish without scratches. Loads of elbow grease.

In the summer, when i have time and a garage, I'll autosol up my SV good and proper. Ok, not Kwak good and proper, but it'll shine again :D
I gotta say, i was skeptical about autosol at first. Then I used it on my 'zorst, and it came out brilliant. Top stuff

kWAK IS A LEGEND IN HIS OWN LUNCHTIME.
Autosol robs you of riding time. I have used it once and have since vowed to only use it when I can't ride. It does an amazing job but you can get hooked on the shininess of thing (Kwak:p)

Gotta agree. I could have been out swinging bends but instead there I was on my knees polishing wheels.
I'm glad you folks like 'em though, thanks for the kind comments! I did manage to get out today too so that made up for yesterday. My sparkly bike drew some nice attention. I think it's worth the effort!
It's a safety thing too. After spending hours scrubbing and polishing I'm even less keen on throwing her in the hedge... :p

Yes of course it's mine and I love it more than the wife, hope she doesn't read this, but then I think she guessed this already. :)
Here's how compulsive I am so that I'd be worthy of my new acquired title LOL...

I've cut off the securing bolt part from this SVS clip-on pair and then polished to mirror finish before installing. Should I be promoted to high priest in your sect?

i polished my matrix of exhaust pipes under the thou today, wet and dry with a blob of autosol works a treat.
I love autosol too...It took off the "not for road use" printed on the end of my exhaust while cleaning it!

no waayyy !!
get outta here!
i am off to rub mine out right now ! ;) :D
Little advice. Start with a small file first, then sandpaper, then Autosol, otherwise you'll take ages to remove.

Nope, mine was just printed in ink and came off with a few good rubs (ooh er missus);)

step 1. We admitted we were powerless over autosol - that our lives had become unmanageable...
