Hi All just read on visordown that Lynw has had an off, i beleive she was a poster on this forum so thought I'd let you all know. I don't know much except it nots suspected to be too serious, but was taken to the hospital for a check up

Feck... how scared is that SV going to be now! Well I'm sure she will let us know, and hope she gets sorted quick.

Just had a look at its true... she seems ok though...

Im ok, nothing broken. Hurt like hell, and not much fun having been strapped down in neck brace because there was a possibility of a neck injury. Fortunately, its a muscular injury to the side of my neck rather than a more serious neck injury.

Basically upshot is I overtook two cars on a clear straight stretch and came up behind a third. That car was seemingly going straight so I committed to an overtake. Yep you can guess whats coming... Having gone to overtake, I spot the right turn into a Farm, car then indicates and turns. I go into side of car.

Cue the poor obs and stupidity on my part for not anticipating that... Im already front of the queue for that one http://www.visordown.com/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif http://www.visordown.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif

Not sure what state the bike is in. I landed on my back and stayed put - one of the drivers who stopped was a gp and made sure I stayed still. But where I landed I couldnt see the bike. Id say forks and wheel for certain arent good as they would have hit her car. But probably not recoverable.

Spoken to her (well on line stuff) and she'll live, but perhaps not the SV.

On a personal note Lyn dropped by on Friday for a visit, so although obviously wouldn't want to wish this on anyone, I'm glad it didn't happen then.

liked the new you Lyn (but then you knew that) bumps and bruses heal and the odd glass of vino isn't going to hurt matters;) .

Swift recovery to you and speak to you soon (yeah, yeah on line stuff again).

Mark

Glad to hear you are ok Lynw, but you are going to be sore tomorrow.
Maybe its about time at your age of thinking about getting a cruiser. Your to old for a sports tourer and I hope its a lesson to the other old fogeys on here.

Ah, the famous 'manover, signal, "what mirror"?' routine that cage drivers seem to enjoy doing.

Looks like your letter is going to get used again, hope it does the trick.

GWS Lyn,

I take it as a good sign you're more worried about the bike than yourself.

GWS Lyn,

Yep lol, think i was more worried about my bike on my accident over a year ago, even though my hand was covered in blood, i was trying to get up to knock the bloke out that knocked me off as he was standing over my bike smoking with petrol pouring out over the floor.

Glad you're ok Lyn, hope your bruises heal fast :)

I've been away at a conference, only just seen this. The exact same thing almost happened to me recently; overtaking a couple of cars at about 20 mph then one turns right while swithing on their indicator at the same time. Luckily I was already half passed and I managed to swerve and avoid them. Why do they put their indicators on AS they turn?!

Get well soon!
