I must admit, I'm more old school, and like these better than the smaller new version, big bikes should be big, not some light weight little thing, think they call it presence.
Nice one.
Cheers Mark.
Well it's been a funny old journey with the RSV.
I loved the GSXR to bits and found a new level of skill and fun in the 2 and a hald years I had him. But I kept yearning for the feel of a V twin again ( yes I had an SV once). I got sick of screaming throught the gears on the IL4 and all the image stuff that goes with a GSXR.
It took me a year to decide that the RSV was the bike I really wanted and then several months to find one. But a guy I know had a pretty one but wanted to part ex it for a less valuable bike that he would be happy to chuck around roads and the track. Terms agreed, job done
Went to swap/pick it up 3 days after Christmas. Cold and damp day. But hey, I'd ridden a V twin before - I knew what I was doing!
15 yards later bike was on it's side and I was effing and blinding on the floor. Only cosmetic damage to me and bike but I limped home (thank God it was less that 2 miles away). As I pulled up 2 biker neighbours were outside and I just stopped the bike and burst into tears.
My confidence was shot to zero until....... BigApe et famille came to visit 2 days later. Si thought to check the tyre pressures. 18 front 24 rear isn't right is it. All of a sudden I realised there might be another reason for me chucking it down the road other than my stupidity. Si MADE me get on it again (thanx babe)
Anyway, I've been battling with Il *******o since then but he is now tamed. The Italian beast is a pussy cat in my hands. 200 miles of East Anglian countryside eaten up today!!!!
Just need a new name now.....
any suggestions?

Nice, my brothers got one a litle older than yours, great looking bikes. Also I see that you've removed the dustbin ( sorry standard can ) from it.
Gayboy
See same helmet in the pic as well
Quiff Wichard

oh yea same helmet
so-
you want a nickname along the same lines as gayboy>??
and all YOUR bikes are male
how about Dafyd.
should really be an italian name shouldnt it- italian stallion...,,,
Quiff - a question. Are the Welsh famous for creating sleek, engineered, tuned, orgasmic V twin 2 wheeled dream machines? No, so why would I give him a Welsh name? :p
Of course they're all male. Think about it. ( but I've heard that Gayboy has had a rethink with his new master). My dear James became Bucket, but I've no idea whether that a boys or girls name!

Shouldn't it be leone (italian for Lion) ?
Nice bike there Messie, I'm still in gixer mode at the moment but I can well understand the yearn for another V2.
Names, hmm, awkward cos all my bikes are named after girls. My gixer is called Gertrude :smt103
For a chap well, what about:
Michele
Placido (maybe not)
Leonardo
Fred
Nice one Messie - that will help with the wheelies...
Shame about the collection story. Lots of nice little extras.

Well it looks like an RSVR instead of an RSV. which means Its got different wheels ( I think they are OZ but could be Marchenesi sp ) Ohlins rear shock and ohlins front forks and an ohlins steering damper.Seat Cowl and a rear hugger also as standard I think.
Hercules - cos it's so well hung

Hey, that's why my bike is called 'Luke'!

Hell yeah - I couldn't agree more.
Names eh, how's about 'The Don'?
Now I thought about Don - Mafia connections bad and beautiful and all that.
Valentino is good but ...... just not bad enough.
leone - leo..... good maybe.
Yes it is an RSVR. I think all/most of the trick bits came as standard apart from the Arrow exhaust. No seat cowl at the mo but there's one on it's way to me.
Quiff - yes Bucket was mine once. He was a sleek and black and perfect little SV650. I loved him but I was a traitor. I sold my soul for a Bandit 12 and left poor little James to feel unloved. I lent him to a friend in need who abused him for 2500 miles around Spain ( see previous BA avatar involving sparks around roundabouts). Suffice to say the big bad bandit let me down (as they all do in the end, even tho I painted him purple) and I was left with my GayboyIL4. And the rest is history...

aww messie- a sad story ....
I like the don..but
"THE Don" would have more impact.
You could always call it what it is...
... The Ultimate Pizza Delivery Bike - but it is a bit of a mouthful. ;)

I am agree with Mr.Rictus. There is something speshul about having something big between your legs.(Although me think Mr.Quiff not know about this)
Aprilia RSV es una moto magnifica, de verdad.

my mates got one of thos up for sale, and im sorely tempted, he reockons it terrifies him everytime he rides it........., i quite like that idea....lol
id like a twin again, but i like like my girls..........big
nice bike
wow messie gies a shot. lol. will we see you both at AR07
Ah so many mentions in one thread, I could almost forgive myself for thinking I was popular. :)
Messie, you already knew that one ride would sort you out again. Especially after identifying the reason for it handling like a bucket of SH**. Happy that you are getting on so well now.
Yes, Bucket was once named James. It is neither male or female. It's a bloody bike. Mine is now named Bucket as it was rebuilt after my little off by a bucket full of parts donated entirely by the kind people of this forum.
Back to the RSVR.
It really is nice and they are Oz wheels. Lots of carbon fibre parts as standard. Very expensive replacement parts. Exhaust just short of a grand. Really stupid stand that sits the bike up to straight. Eats batteries and solonoids. Looks stunning. Too bloody big for me to have one but not too big for me to have a go eh Messie ;)
Oh and it doesn't wheelie. Well at least not with Messie on board. :)
I think it should be called Vanilli.
Come on think about it...

But Mr.Ape...Big moto does not be singing and not making sound like who you mention? This is big joke I am think, yes?

Is not 998cc enough for you then?
Ape - you can have a go on my bike if you want but not for 2500 miles again :D
Vanilli - I get it but no, I've decided he's called
Leo - he's a lion but I've tamed him!

nice n simple with lots of meaning..
clever thinking Ape on the naming front ,, but if it were called vanilli wouldnt it have to mime all the beautiful noises it makes>>
