Hi collective

Just tried to take some photos of my Motosliders bings and the pictures are all blurred. I notice that all the photos taken over past few weeks are blurred and that the AF warning is showing on my camera. It looks like my digi cam is goosed.

Does anyone who knows about cameras know if there is somewhere on the web with known issues / fixes for cameras (cannot find by Google)? Or indeed can anyone help trouble shoot my problem? The camera is a Fuji A345 4.1 megapixel, only about 15 months old and hardly used. The camera has not been damaged / dropped / water etc to my knowledge.

Thanks

You sure the camera is not in macro mode (indicated by a small flower)?

Yep - checked that on Baph's suggestion. bizarrely, it worked better in Macro mode than nornal AF mode.

Managed to take photos of bike in macro mode, still does not work in 'normal' mode.
Any ideas? References?

Have your exposure settings in the etc been changed from factory default? This can reverse what the macro does, so the macro reverts to factory defaults temporarily.

Why not take 2 pics....one of something 5 meters away in normal mode and then something half meter away in macro mode and then i could give you some help but without pics not a lot can be done.

You cant affect macro mode as it is a setting that is fixed and the settings can not be changed by a user on a simple camera like that

The user manual for that camera specifically tells you how to change the exposure etc.

Perhaps you might have a point that macro mode on a "simple" camera like that can't be changed though, but I thought I'd ask because on some camera's I've woned in the past, this was exactly the case.

The photography equivalent of PEBKAC I bet!

The Fuji A345 is prone to losing its AF focus, i used to work for Jessops photographic and we would get quite a few back, due to it been a relatively cheaper side of digital camera they tend to break alot quicker, i have seen this fault so many times before with this camera and they are always sent back to service,
if you want a spanking camera Go with a Canon ixus 750 range upwards, you will pay alot more but the quality is out standing and it will last alot longer, these are the market leaders and pretty much always have been, its also a non biased opinion PM me if you want to know more about which ever cameras you look at, ill tell you on a level without all that Crap sales person Sh!te

So this camera was new for XMAS 2005, am I now stuck with it? I guess it is out of warranty? Any idea how much is service to fix it?

its not worth it really when it came out the camera was £149.99
if you can still find one it will be £99 service wont even look at it
my advice is to invest in a better one, if it helps i can recommend a few from £129.99 up to £250 to give you a broad choice? let me know and i can PM them and post them 4 u
