View Full Version : My little yellow SRAD
Had a quick polish of the bike and after putting the new akrapovic sticker on I decided to take a picture or two.

New additions since the last pictures are probably the undertray which has tidied up the rear end quite a bit, also a LED tail light and LED rear indicators. I had to modify the undertray as you are suppossed to hack the bungee hooks to make the tray fit but didnt want to lose them as it seem pointless so hacked the undertray instead.

I put yellow rim tape on the wheels also but I dont think it looks to bad though... oh and black headlight protector.

Looking good mate. Just need to get out and ride it now.
Had it for about a year now, but didnt ride it much last year due to accident and so on, but rides well for a '99 bike.
Also got a dyno of it somewhere, the fueling is now spot on with a nice curve, only makes about 97bhp but still pretty good.

Only 97 bhp? Thats two shy of being 3 times more powerful than my bike :shock:
Very very nice though, I like the old SRAD's and was hoping to get lucky and pick up a GSXR600 like that as a first bike (now very glad I didnt - they are not happy being restricted). Maybe as a second bike or something!

that look sooo much tidier than it did when you first got it. The only thing I coudl recommend you do now, is get it resprayed in a "toothpaste" colour scheme instead of that nasty "Bumble bee" paint scheme you have on there now ;)

talking of rim tape on another thread i think the yellow tape on your gixer suits it nicely.
Now that's purdy.
I like these models, chunky yet curvy (a little like J-Lo's backside perhaps ;)) - they had style in them days.

Yer I dont think the SRAD would like to be restricted, its a very rev happy bike and best being abused with full throttle, I was hoping for some more ponies but yer its not often ill use 70bhp on it let alone 97bhp so its plenty good for me.

Kwak clean is a tough thing to do, it involves several tubes of autosol and good bottle of polish to pull off oh and about several days ;)

and warm the sticker with a hairdryer-
I didnt when I put my scorpion one on... u prob saw the thread.. andi t fell off.!!

Nope, didnt do any of that, the instructions on it said to use hot water and peel the sticker off, then use solvents like thinners to clean the exhaust surface. Then clean it and dry it off and stuck the sticker on. Its lasted this long with no curls or anything.
Yer read about yours and did wonder, but followed the instructions to see if it would work and fingers crossed so far its working.
