"you spend more time talking to that lot than you do talking to me!"

Stock response: "I can spend more time in the pub if you'd prefer."

I used to have that problem. I solved it by selling the PC, buying a laptop, and then finding a reason to supply myself with another laptop from work.

End result? Me and SWMBO both have our own laptops, and can sit on our sofas (we have a sofa each) not speaking for hours at a time.

Bliss.

he's as bad as i am, so it's more a case of us fighting eachother for use of the PC!

Solution:

Laptop + wireless internet connection = surf anywhere in the house.

She has here own forums that she chats on so it's very rare I get a look in on the pc! unless I get home from work b4 her:cool:

She reckons I don't 'chat' much anymore...:smt103 . She's normally busy plucking something anyway..:D . If she reads this I'll probably be :smt051 .

But really? I think I'm right in saying that she think's it's a little bit odd doing this forum thingy...she doesn't really rate it at all but then when it comes down to things of this nature, they are really low on her list of priorities...for example...mobile phone? Not bovvered...had one for a while - used it about thrice ish...

I managed to show her t'internet about 18 months ago - she likes Ebay, and will LOOK at other forums for info such as holidays, reviews etc. But a 'cybersocialising' thing? Nah...it's not for her...yet.

In that case mate, whenever you fancy a coffee, offer her one as you're passing (if you have to pass her to get to the kitchen - or take a minor detour).

Make yourself & her a coffee, put hers down infront of her, tut, and come back to us lot on the org :)

That way, she'll feel like you care (offering the coffee) but might also see your point.

If folks don't have different interests, a relationship can get very dull very quick. Despite what lovey dovey couples will tell you, there is such a thing as too much time together!

 Yup, I get that too.

Usually it happens when I've got my head stuck into a piece of code that I'm working on "There in a minute!"

Two hours 30 later, "Your dinner's gone cold, how long does a minute last on your planet again?"

The worst thing by far though is trying to have a conversation with me about anything when I'm trying to focus on a problem. For some reason, I always get accused of not listening....

I am the 'Her indoors', and I'm on here more than Pete.:D

But our pc is in the living room, next to the sofa, so we are both there anyway, looking at the threads and deciding which of us will post on them:D

Usually it's me, as he's watching something on telly at the same time.

Sounds like a familiar story.

I would say "they all do that sir," but I wont, I'll only get shouted at by the female contingent if I did that!

I have the PC at the back end of our lounge-diner. The Mrs can be watching the box or chatting on the phone and I can be on the PC.

However, she is tanding to use it as much as me now, so I sit at the table with my lap top.

Meanwhile, "boy" is upstairs playing WoW on his own broadband conection. Either that or he's doing collage stuff the other PC he has up there.... (At least I think it's college stuff) ;)

Nope! Maria (miss alpinestarhero) reads the forums with me, and even joined herself  but she feels like it was a pointless thing to do, since she claims she knows nothing about bikes and dosnt know how to ride

She's still a biker chick in my eyes :D

Mrs Spidey used to get really annoyed at me for spending so much time online with my other girlfriend, she who is The Org, as opposed to being with her.
I had to explain that we were sitting in the same room and she was watching TV programs that do nothing for me so what did she want me to do, sit still and be bored? Read a book? Basicaly anything else to occupy my time than be on the comp?

And she said "yeh" so i gently had to explain to her that she has a problem, not me. I'd understand if she was in bed waiting for me to join her or something but if i choose to browse the Org rather than watch crap on TV then thats all good.
She gets it now, but still has the occasional moan. Women, i think they just cant help it sometimes. :D

moaning - its what us women do best.

She thinks you're all a figment of my imagination and if you are real you're all weirdos. I told her I was going to invite you over in the summer for a barbie so she can make a more informed decision ;)

I can't add anything new.....my misses comes out with all the aforementioned statements hence why I've only got 100 odd posts.

Although she watches endless soaps on tv and sits silently 15ft across from me in the lounge she states the arguement as only a woman can.

."

Maybe its programmed into them, because that is exactly what she says to me... my mrs that is not yours lol,

i dont know i just actually feel part of a community on here call it cheesy if you like but i really do,
take for example the annual meet up in June its my B-day that friday, do i spend it with people i dont know doing something i love? or do i stay at home with the family, i can imagine myself getting pretty messy that friday night though lol, but she doesnt want to go to the annual thing and i can imagine it would cheese her of to the max if i did go . . . AAAAGGGHHH! ! ! !
it would bring the whole "whats wrong with me" thing up . . .:smt089 :smt089 :smt089 :smt014 :smt014

Any idea for this one folks? as its all you lots fault ( yes ALL of your Faults ) lol,

He has invisible friends too. However most of them live in his head!!!!

I usually come on if I'm on my own. I first came on the forum with sv questions. Never been on a chat forum before (could call me a virgin if you wish ;) ) Just kinda like the sound of you all, and the community feel of it. I mention the odd thing I have read, or commented on, but he not ar*ed what I do so long as we are happy.
