i did read most of that thread, £60 is a lot of money if you dont like them.
i know roughly what shape i want & the ones in the piccys dont look quite right (probally just me)
the bike shops i have been to only sell the throw away ones, so anybody know where i can go to look at them?

hg do some permanant ones, you get 2 different kind of filters with them so you can choice how much outside noise you want to filter through.
£15.99 a set, i cant remember what they are called!

I got these ones, very good, perfect seal every time and you can wash them as many times as you want.

Mate, the one thing I have learned since having a bike is "You get what you pay for".

It's your hearing so I'll leave you to make the decision, but £16.00 doesn't sound enough to be "really" decent to me....

If you fit them in your ear properly you'll get really good noise reduction with the foam disposable's IMHO, but the sercret is to fit them properly.

I use the "Max Laser Lite" foam ones, I can't hear squatt when I've got them in. I bought 200 for £20 a while ago and I still havent used them up. When they get manky I bin em.

I would imagine the ear mould ones are going to be better though. But I havent tried them. Anything is better than nothing with this IMHO.

Same here Fizz, use the same ones although it now appears due to some requests at work due to the server noise we have an absolute stack of them in these little dispensors so needless to say all the bikers at work were happy with free ear plugs ;)

We have the yellow earplugs at work but I don;t find them very good. I recently got some of the foam oxford ones from eBay to try them and am very impressed. If you fit them properly (i.e. ram them in your ear as far as you can when they are scrunched up) they are brilliant. The only problem I have with earplugs is that I tend to ride at higher revs as I can't hear the exhaust so clearly. To combat this I must need a noisier exhaust:smt040

The major difference between the moulded ear plugs and the foam type (apart from cost) is that the moulded ones are designed to fit YOUR ear, the foam ones are not, and may put pressure on certain parts of the ear, which is not that good for you.

However, if you are going to use them, lick your fingers and wipe them around the plug before insertion, that small amount of lubrication makes a big difference, especially on hot sunny days when you're stopping and starting often.

I do this with the fitted plugs as well...I find that it just seats them a bit better and provides a better seal:smt023

Me too...

I did laugh when two mates, standing next to each other drinking coffee, decided it was time to go. One picked up his plugs, licked them and stuck them in his ears, the other turned round and said "Do you enjoy the taste of MY earwax ?"

The plonker had picked up the wrong ones - Euurgh ! :D:smt087

Good Scottish firm........ Seriously though, they have just had their product listed in a safety journal which I get at work due to them being approved to CE marking standards, so that opens up a gian market for them.

They recently showed at the Scottish bike show and all I saw was a sign saying "Sorry sold out.. please order online" and that was next to two or three laptops. VERY economical price wise. Another thing is that you can put your lid on whilst they set to ensure that it doesnt produce a pressure point once you start wearing them for real.

They are on my list of To Dos.

i just ordered a pair, its says £12.99 +£1 postage = £16.50 ???? (V.A.T.)

anywho... i emailed them first about fixing them together..............

Thank you for your interest in our earplugs.

We have just developed a new lanyard system for them that screws into the earplugs. We have not yet added them to our website yet.

However if you order online and add a note to us I will make sure you receive one free of charge.

3 Balls of each? How many ears do you have, or are you stuffing one up a nostril?
