I see two of those most nights passing me on the North side of the Kingston Bridge. Nice bike. I was considering the ER6 as a first bike, the only reason I didn't get one was it was so new and I couldn't be bothered with a first model introduction and the possible problems you get.

Hope you have fun on it Q.

Cheers

I hope so too Cam - but the wait is going to kill me - I missed most of last years weather and this year I'm fighting with my dad to get on the same bike!! I can't pick it up till 20 may which is an age away:smt009
This is the 2006 model on a 2007 plate so most of the prob's have been ironed out so I've been told.

Anyway don't want to leave this group!

The only issue that I've spotted documented to date was that some panels around the instruments were buzzing/ ticking due to no foam damping material & Kwak have issued kits to the dealers to rectify the issue FOC. I should imagine that means that the factory are using the same kits when building new ones and as such it should only affect bikes before a certain date.

Cheers,

Garry:thumbsup:

We need as many ecosse posse as poss......:-s

Gud to hear your not leaving the clique. May aint so far off either when a nice shiney prize awaits you.

But i suppose it's like watching the kettle boil, yeah?
Now bear with me, i'll explain.....

You can imagine the coffee/ER6 and how good the buzz will be, you see others enjoying it too, adding to your frustration. But until you grasp that mug/throttle, you're left drinking flat, warm irn-bru or commuting 100miles a day on an SR125 - uphill!!!!

Well, i know wot i mean!:smt073

Glad you do mate, because that doesn't sound too bad to me, especially as I sit here with my heating packed in. Cold bru? Not 'til summer.

Course you're welcome :) And on a rather nice bike, too. The F's miles better than the N...

But I'll leave you with these 3 words: breaking frame welds... There's one weld on the right hand side near the front, by where the crash bungs are, that has really crap penetration on some bikes- I was on the Er6 forum for a while making fun of them :) Kawasaki France have issued a service notice for it, but not in the UK apparently- there's no recall but they were instructed to check the weld on each service, and to honour any warranty claims. It seems like some crash bungs fit right on that point as well, people are recommending R&G if I recall correctly. So I'd watch that one ;) Not common enough to worry about though, just one to watch.

If you find it tall, then there's a nice fix, you can't use dogbones but Penske do a short shock- it's not cheap, but it improves the ride quality as well as lowering the rear.

It's not a bad forum, very US led and utterly filled with cretins, but still good fun.

They don't seem too bad but seems to be lot from down south. WE're trying to get a poll of where everyone is. Don't think there will be many rideouts north of the border:smt104

bikers oracle , i been there u know.

i think it's run by the VFR owners group, everything else has just slowly spread from that part, so all the good crack is at VFR.

Snapping frames on the ER-6?

Ooops!

Would I consider one? Hmmm.

Would have to be cheap. But......No....I would go for the Bandit.

Checked out the frame "issue" and doesn't look a big deal. Pretty isolated and easy to avoid if you have the dealer (decent) check the frame tolerances before you pick up the bike.

Cheers for the warning.

Garry;)
