Who is up for the second East Anglian Rideout then! Meet at the Maltings again? Someone else can volunteer to lead - I'm not a big fan of leading but don't mind now and then! lol
Which day is best for everyone? Soz couldn't work out how to do a voting post! Blonde!
9th would be best for me! (possibly) but i may be able to do either day.

We thought you did a good job on leading on Sunday.................even if you were voted in to the job:D
Won't be able to make this one, but we hope you have a good day!

Ta. Never sure how fast/slow to go when leading or wether to try and keep everyone together or just wait at junctions like we did!
If no-one else volunteers I'll sort something out!

Im my opinion what you did was fine.
It's just as dangerous going at the slowest riders pace as it is trying to go quicker than you feel is safe. At least we all joined up at junctions and made sure that none of the group had suffered an incident. No pressure for anyone.
Top marks.
Probably either day for me, might have other things to do later on the 6th though.
I haven't led a rideout before so not sure I'll be up to it on slightly unfamiliar roads, but I could help out with being tail end charlie. lol.
There ya go.
Wow, I managed to do a Poll and merge threads thingy... I'm feeling clever me! ;)
EDIT: Oh yeah, and I left of an 'Either' choice so that we don't get a load of maybe's or I don't minds and end up not making a decision. :p
Not that it matters but that is the same weekend as the first round of British Superbikes!

Can't sit in and watch racing all weekend - would rather play and watch racing in the evening!
As for leading on unfamiliar roads - exactly what I did last time - never ridden any of them before just had to trust the sat nav! lol...that nearly went wrong in Ely!
Can't sit in and watch racing all weekend
Some of us can;)

Naahh...I'll be at the circuit all weekend...otherwise I would try and make your run. Sounds like a good time was had by all who made it last time;)

Oh I'll let you off then. I can't afford to go and watch them all - will be at some though hopefully! I always do Cadwell in August as the run up there is fun!

Yep, I should be heading up there as well.

If you were to make it the 9th then you could find a nice route to Southend for the Ace Cafe Shakedown Rally & then attend my BBQ
See HERE (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=84021) for details.

Probable for Easter Monday.
Can't be definite as my balance is still shot after an ear operation, :shaking2:
but i "should" be OK to ride again by then.
Usual weather caveat also applies.

Cool, sounds good. I'm going to be Mr. Decisive and say I don't really mind where I go but I'll be there (wherever there may be).

Early start then- thats ok by me - I wake up at 6am every day for no reason at all! doh
Anyone else want to do this? We could meet at the Peterborough services at 9am at shoot down the A1. Paws if thats not early enough just say! lol

Yes, can I go? I can meet up in Peterborough, do the ride out to Southend, then head to Guildford.
It takes at least 1½ hours to get from Peterborough to Ace Cafe.

Where is the services exactly? As I live Near J10 I will be going up the A1, so is this service station on the southside of Peterbough?
Looking forward to it :D

Cool, another one,
Services are at J17. Ignore the green arrow on the map. It's the white squiggle of road just to the left of the J17 roundabout.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=A1(M)+J17&layer=&sll=52.540449,-0.389328&sspn=0.278134,0.63858&ie=UTF8&z=14&om=1
Seems a bit silly for you to head up to Peterborough when we're all heading down the A1 anyway.
Dunno if we can change the meeting place to further down the A1 or whether that'll just confuse everyone. If not I'll see you at the services.
PM me if you need my number.

J10 is Baldock Services...
Also a big 'stop' with restaurants and stuff.
Maybe we could meet up there or you guys could meet at J17 and then Meet me at J10
How about J15a?
Itd be better for me and tris tbh.
I should be able to make it for the monday, hope this thing is still happening, I have been stuck in Manchester with my bike down here in Cambridge for the last few months, but got back yesterday. Hope the weather gets better before i return.
Ok, 2nd try at this organising meet up points.
Thanks, K.
2 options
1st option: A1 route, 2 meeting points, Peterborough services J17 and Baldock services J10 .

Via: A1(M) Baldock Service Area,Baldock (39mins from Peterborough)
To: NW10 7UD,Park Royal
Distance: 76.7 miles
Time: 1 hr 41 min
2nd option: M1 Route, Northampton services J15A
From: M1 Northampton Service Area Southbound,Northampton

From: M1 Northampton Service Area Southbound,Northampton
To: NW10 7UD,Park Royal
Distance: 62.1 miles

Itd be more like 8.30am leaving j15a as they all start leaving ace at 10.30am

First option, I'll be at the Peterborough services at 8.30 and we can stop at Baldock on the way!
I prefer the 1st option as it save me crossing over to the M1.
TBH the A1 and the M1 aren't great biking roads () that make me want to travel extra distance to ride them.
So long as everyone gets to the Ace in time. If people are leaving the Ace at 10:30am then all times I suggested should be put forward so we're not late.
I disappear off after this weekend so something needs to be organised, numbers need to be swapped before Monday.
I will be at Peterborough Services before 8:30am and ready to leave ASAP unless I am told the plan has changed.

I'll be ready to go at 8.30 - maybe we should say meet at 8.15 to make sure we are all there! I've got your no. Law so will text any changes!
I'll see you guys at ace then? i should be with runt & my bloke :)

If you guys want a 'nice' rideout - then I would suggest NOT going to the Ace Cafe - but making your own way down here to Southend.
The reason being that the route taken from the Ace is very boring - A406 (North Circular) then A127 (dual carriageway) & made even more boring by the large number of bikes.
I'm afraid I can't help much as I'm not familiar with roads around Northampton. But, if you can get yourselves to the A414 then that road is a road that could have almost been designed with bikes in mind  From the A414 you simply pick up the A130 which leads to the A127 for the last few miles into Southend.
Whichever you choose - have fun & I look forward to seeing you :)

You make the day sound soooo much fun:
get up early
dual carriageway into London
London traffic
dual carriageway
BBQ(the good part)
We're meeting runt, paws & tris at the Ace so that part of the run down can't change.
However, if people are up for it from the Ace. A detour up the A1 to Hatfield, take the A414 as Supervox suggests into Sarfend should take 2½ hours (give or take). Should make it on time for the 1:45pm BBQ meet at Lidl.
On a different note A1 Meet
At the mo we have
Peterborough Services:
Minifun
Me
Baldock Services (be there just before 9am):

If you are going to be riding down with us, post up so we know because we won't be at the services for long.
Sharka, I'll PM my number to you. PM me yours before Monday (or text after Monday) me yours, and I'll text you when we set off from Peterborough.

Sounds good...
If the M1 users fancy meeting up with us for the ride down to Ace, the A507 joins the M1 to the A1 at J10. just a suggestion

I'm not going to make this now - just did bikesafe and got back to see no tyre left - down to the thread like metal looking stuff in the centre so can't risk it. Have tried to get another but as its bank holiday everyone is shut! I knew it was getting low but hadn't realised it was that bad! Doh. Soz guys!

minifun - did u do bikesafe in peterborough? i'm on the waiting list and have been told no dates have been fixed yet?!
I did my bike safe in Pboro last year, was a great 3 weeks and the ride was fun too......

No, did it with Lincolnshire Police. They do it in a morning and its cheaper. I couldn't commit to three tuesdays for the Peterborough one and its the best part of £100. Lincs one was £35. Would recommend it, the roads up there were great and new to me. I get bored of riding the same roads all the time! lol
Meh, I have far too much work on at the moment to do much more that a quick local play (after taking a day out to go paddling at Skeg yesterday;)).
That and my housemate has just left this morning for a work trip to India - so I need to be home at a reasonable time, or my dog starts to complain that I'm late in getting his dinner ready.
Have fun guys and ride safe.
The Peterborough one was £25 when I did it last year and when I looked on the police websites, Pboro was the cheapest in the country and the best value.
I think it still is £25, but if you cant do the 3 tuesdays, then its no good to you.
Was loads of fun tho, hope you had fun on yours too.
