Heya folks! I'm new to the forum (only 3 or so posts inquiring for parts :| Bad form, I know.) I recently purchased a 2002 SV650S from a friend.

I'm 24, never ridden before so naturally I took the Motorcycle safety course and after about a month of riding I thought I was comfortable. Then I down shifted too quickly taking a right hand turn at 15 mph and the bike threw me like a bull and decided to pop a squat on my leg. I'm fine save for my pride and a scuffed knee. (Thank you Mr Riding Boots)

Getting to the point, I snagged the 1 inch curb with my brake assembly and bent the entire bit 90 degrees in the wrong direction. Of course with a month on the bike Im rippin' to get back on the road with it but I've a few problems replacing the rear set / footpeg assembly.

Are the 2003 + assemblies compatable with my 2002, carbed? (these are the only ones I can find on Ebay)

Are Gilles / aftermarket rear sets really that friggin' awesome?

Adrian (forgot his s/n) is looking into his scrapped SV for the parts I'm in need of but I wanted some more general knowledge.

Thanks in advance folks

They're lovely but expensive. Crash well too.

Could you define 'crash well'?

And... why couldn't I find that on Ebay? >.< Thanks!
