Sorry Hovi5, +1. The plate light gives her a cleaner separation between rear light and... err... the plate. :S
But hey, if it floats your boat...

:smt056
I don't think it looks that bad, better than standard. Have a look at getting a Pyramid undertray though, tidys the rear end up nicely

the plate in the picture above is no way a 6x4 more like a 10x8, :p
that looks bigger than 6x4? i just made one out of cardboad & its too small........so i might drop the plate down a bit ...?

Naa its not that big, but yep it is bigger than what i have now, which i dont have a photo of. There is a gap between the indicators and plate which in that photo there is not.

But hey, if it floats your boat...
trouble is the whole back end & light has to come off.......... but i will do it:bounce:
Thats the way it looks now, well the damage at the bottom was because my numberplate bracket broke and it rode on the rear wheel for several miles melting away.

Pic one. Good free mod and with a smaller plate would look even better.
Pic two. :laughat:
What you need, as has already been said, is a new undertray.
droped it down about 1" & it looks better,

He's right you know. This is mine Undertray with 7 x 5 plate. Look's OK I think.

Liz chopped down the rear of her naked SV, and it had a 7 x 5 plate on it and it looked OK.

Personally I think you've gone a little to far, but thats mainly to do with the angle of the plate more than anything.
This is mine with the cut down undertray.

and now with the new undertray

Big Ape, I have to say this:
The new undertray makes the bike look like it has more blue and white on it......where is my coat.

I've done the same as BigApe's first piccy, but replaced the big number plate light with the standard reflector. Looks good, but not happy with the vertical plate, looks slightly wrong. My plate is a 6x5 I think.
I have an undertray I might get round to fitting some time......
6 x 4 plate...twas a tad on the small side but never got tugged over it :D

Cropped stock rears look a bit pants, I hated mine and have replaced with a nice aftermarket thing I got from the local breakers, dunno what it's called but it keeps the stock plate light.
It's off the bike for painting as it was blue and my new SV is black, best colour. FACT ;)

.:( maybe it will look better with the 6x4 plate:(
Y'all need to get your plate kicked out a bit. Besides it looking better, also keeps more of the muck off and acts as a bit of a mudguard.
Here's some inspiration:

would look even better if I hadnt got to twist my head.
dont you need a reflector though AND a numberplate light?.. how do you get around that one?

I got round the reflector issue by glueing one on my old plate when taking it in for an MOT.
The examiner then told me it should be red and not somethnig of a bike pedal
Fair play tho he let me off \\:D/
