Hi guys, may be a stupid question but can I paint my indicator bulbs orange?
Just got some clear lenses from the local Suzuki dealer but they don't come with bulbs.. I'm thinking a light coating of heat resistant orange paint may do the job??

Don't use normal paint, but I don't see why not, although as the bulds are about £1 each from a bike shop can't see a reason to muck about with it myself.

Cheers Mark.

Oh right, £1 each! I was under the impression that the only orange bulbs available need to be filed down and modified to fit? Where would I get a direct fit orange bulb from Rictus?

Well not much use to you but I used to get them from Bonanza Motorcycles around the corner 21w jobbies, they have the pins stepped (one high the other lower) and only fit one way.

I just walked in and asked.

Cheers Mark.

You could check eBay or pay a visit to halfwits too. It is possible to buy indicator bulbs that have a mirrored appearance to look great in clear lenses, but they flash amber.;)

Just go to halfords and buy some, they're the same as car indicator bulbs. Not worth the hassle painting them, make sure they 21w though!!!

Yes, if you get the proper paint.

Oh, I have 4 spare orange indicator bulbs that I don't use.
Someone else had them before me so they're well used, 2 have a bit of corrosion.

They were on my SV for a week or two before I replaced them with chrome ones.

You can have them for free, I'm heading off to Peterborough for a week though Monday early afternoon.
I can make a small detour off the M25 to Maidenhead and hand them over to someone you know/leave them somewhere.

I'll need to know by tomorrow morning or you'll have to wait a week.

The mirrored bulbs have a chrome finish to them, but they aren't as bright as the standard bulbs or the orange versions.

I just found it hilarious that you thought you would have to file down a bulb to make it fit, if theres a need for it someone will make it. hence why they sell small orange bulbs.
