View Full Version : Guildford tyre co - open day sat 7th
Not sure you all know but I saw an article in one of the local free mags about guildford tyre co doing open day next Sat, with special offers on the new Michellin Pilot Road 2, and Pilot Power 2CT's.
I need some new tyres and depending on the wear I'll go for one of these sets. I'll call them in the week to see what the special pricing is for the day.
I'd be so tempted to go for the Pilot Road 2's after reading the propaganda in this month's Bike. That is if I didn't already have new Conti's fitted a fortnight ago.

I am in the market for a new front tyre and would be keen for a michelin pilot road 2 after reading a review. Where is this place and did you find out any prices?
Cheers Ryan
Law, you want to be careful. Apparently leaving your bike in garages for months on end seriously reduces their life expectancy. Word has it you get much better value for money if once in a while they actually rotate. However cleaning them before, after and during each ride does keep them looking pretty.
It's their Chilworth branch? well out of Guildford.
They wouldn't tell me expected prices but £130 was normal price for one rear tyre fitted  And don't expect to get them fitted on the Saturday they expect to be too busy just taking oders and serving you BBQ :yum:
spoken to them... heres the pricing for SV1000s sized tyres (120/70 and 180/55)
Pilot Road 2s normal price fitted = £241
Pilot Road 2's special fitted = £199
Pilot 2CT's special price £210
They will be fitting on the day, as they've got extra staff coming in.

Ok, but I don't have a garage?? and my bike gets used at least once a month??
So I went, got the Road 2's for £208, slightly more than they quotes.. apparently I didn't say ride in ride out... pretty sure I did, but I got a beanie hat, some pens, 2 burgers, a hotdog, and 2 cans of coke, so I was happy :)
Lets see how they feel after being run in.

I also ended up there unexpectedly after getting a puncture last week, they're certainly not especially cheap - £130 fitted for a rear Pilot Power 2CT was their discounted price!
However that said i do like the set up there, the guys are friendly, i got lots of freebies and they had a tyre for me in time for my trackday so I'm a happy bunny :D
