Hi,
Looking to join the ranks of SV owners soon. I'm based in Northampton and have £2500 so spend on an SV650S. I'm going to look at an 8k '05 this weekend but looking for alternatives that I can reasonably view (distance wise) in the near future.
Cheers,
/2mths

(Have looked in for sale but stuff seems to be too new (expensive) or older than I'd like (would like a pointy as opposed to a curvy)

Hi Paws... So there's a Northampton contingent - cool. I saw some thread about an East Anglian Rideout and thought a 'local' meet might mean Norwich! I know the store, I'm not more than a mile away out past the Billy.

It'd have to be some curvy for two-five, I think I'll keep looking :)

Cheers GSXR Carlos. It is kindof tempting (well spec'd) but I'm going to stick to my guns and keep looking for afforable pointys. I'm not comparing (one of my) heap of junk with modern Suzi's (such as your bike) but I've had enough of running an older machine with miles under the belt which is why I'm treating myself and looking for as new as possible.

Is that unicorn because I want a pointy one, or because you think the bike I seek is a mythical beast that doesn't exist?

Do you have any reflective silver wheel rim tape in stock? I keep badgering my local Hein Gericke in Clapham but they are being useless..

Thread Hijack Alert!

No, no, that was er, code for: try MCN bike finder, it's better than Autotrader....

:)

I did the same as you; was sick of older unpredictable bikes, so bought a new one to minimise emotional strife. Best thing I ever did.

Autotrader - all over priced
MCN - some reasonable but nothing close
ebay - occasional stuff of interest (though one that was on the shortlist has suddenly dissapeared)
sv650.org - too soon to tell :-)
another site - my one hope
dealers - too expensive (my money will only get me a 5+ y/o bike)

Last time I bought a new bike it fell to pieces after just 4 months. So much for Honda build quality. (The Golf GTI I hit might have had something to do with it). I'm too mentally scarred from (among other things) the financial loss to buy another new bike yet.

No hun, it seems like we dont really deal with motrax anymore (and thats who we get the wheel rim tape from)

It's a very nice looking bike and the idea of a twin though some tasty cans is very appealing. However, no offense intended but more or less the first thing I stated was my budget and for a reason, that's what I've got to spend. I've got to be able to afford to run this bike and a thou don't fit with that.

It's far from original as it is. Already got a Carbon Can Co. exhaust and tail tidy on it. So bring it on :p

Yes that was almost certainly me! (I'm a little scared now).

Thanks for the compliment on the sound :D It's not the OEM can, but a CCC (baffle in).
