Anyone got one going spare...

Looks like this...

Mines got 2 problems, the bolts won't come apart without drilling and the bearings are completely stuffed. So I figured just replace the lot...

With or without the dogbones, its fine though I would like the nut and bolt that hold the dogbones in as I'm now short one set.

Ta.

Cant you just grind the bolt off, fit new bearings and nut/bolt?

Yes but it I can get a second hand one with all this done its much easier, the bikes not being rode at the moment so I can wait a little time.

But won't the chances be that the "new" one will require new bearings anyway. That linkage must've been unserviced for some time for that bolt to seize like that.

I seem to recall someone trying to renew those bearings and finding that Suzuki required you to remortgage your house for them???There was a thread about whether you could measure them up and buy them direct from a bearing firm.

£80+ for the bearings and spacers for the linkage on its own, i could afford the 4th bearing for the swingarm  If i had to do it again, i'd buy a secondhand linkage aswell ;)

Well I've seen some on ebay, so I'll have them as it looks like no ones got one spare.

Sorry to labour the point but what guarentee do you have that the "new" linkage will be any better than your old one. Only if it's had all the bearings professionally recently replaced can you be sure.

I recently took apart my recently acquired 13,000 miler curvys linkage and it was dreadful, no grease whatsoever, so I doubt it will last as long as my old 50,000 miler that was regularly maintained and still on the originals.

Bite the bullet and refurbish this un.

If you're still in need I think I've got a decent one hanging about somewhere (with good bearings).

Let me know and I'll have a hunt!
