Got two damaged SV engine that would probably work together to make a good one,

Haven't got the time to do any work to them myself.

They both have about 20K probably and were running fine before the bang!!

One I haven't heard running but the other was in my bike for a while. They both still have the engine covers, one misses a starter motor,

Both in the East London area,

Need to shift them, £70 collected for the pair.

;)

I might break them if I don't get any interest for the two.

I expect that Northwind will be along shortly, probably with plans for a twin engine SV :D

I'm on the lookout for a curvy engine in good shape with a wobbly bottom end, funnily enough, but can't collect... I've got a spare good crank, but the engine I bought with a knock (for £40 ;)) turned out to also have been stored in the rain and is full of rust, total wreck... So I parted the good bits and made a profit, and now I want a new rebuildable engine :) It makes no sense, obviusly, but I like messing with stuff...

But no broken cranks or totally seized bottom ends please!

Are they curvy or pointy?
I seem to recall someone looking for a set of pointy cams very recently????

Hi

Do both of them still have good gearboxes, and do you know if the gearbox on the pointy is the same as the one on the curvey

Cheers

I have a spare engine that I was planning on breaking, but might just sell the lot whole if I don't have time. I have no idea what's wrong or right with it, don't think there's any major probs tho. I live in Edinburgh although the engine is in my folks' garage about 70 miles away due to lack of space at my place. Let me know if this is of any interest to you.

Both have not had gearbox issues, so they should still be good.

Not sure if it's the same as the pointy gearbox I'm afraid - can't see them being that disimilar!!

what was up with them in the first place

The one I haven't heard running was rattling so the previous owner thought he'd cut his losses and sell the bike as spares/repairs.

I bought another motor used it for a few months over winter. I think the rear cam chain was in need of attention. I was planning to do it one night after work - needless to say as I went home all was not well - Got a lift home from the recovery. Got another second hand engine, fitted it and it worked a charm!!

I reckon you'd make a good engine with spares from the two!!

Could be interested in the two, will have a word with the wifes uncle (retired old git) and see if he can spare the time to rebuild them as one.
