Recently took a trip up to my dads in Swansea along with my bro and had a ride up into Mid Wales. No idea where these shots were taken but we'd pulled over to look at the view, birds of prey and things.

Looks stunning doesn't it? I wasn't thinking about that too much due to the pain in my wrists, back, neck, bum etc. We'd ridden from Kent the previous night after work, I've only had the bike out in the last couple of weeks after taking my test in December (yes I'm a dry weather pansy :smt019:smt019), perhaps it was a little ambitious. Bar risers are looking very tempting at the moment.

Edit: New picture just been texted to me.

looks briliant! your wrists will get used to it as they get stronger. Try gripping the tank with your legs more, it takes some of the weight.

Yeah, that's what I figured and why I've not rushed out and got the risers. We've got another trip planned next month but we're going by van, saving ourselves for the twisty bits! :D

fantastic. I'm stuck in doing a dissertation for the next couple of weeks. what a ballache. maybe try taking a sportsbike out for the day, your SV will feel like a tourer afterwards!

Being stuck in sucks, especially during this weather. Riding the bike should help you think. How about rigging a dictaphone to a mike in your lid?! Referring to sources could be a little difficult though...

The wrists have actually kept me off the bike for the last couple of days myself. Tried a press-up this morning too which didn't help. Won't have time tomorrow but should be back on the road on Tuesday.

Had a sit on an 07 ZX-6 just now. Really don't fancy riding to Wales on that!

Unfortunately not, we rode back on Friday. Still have yet to meet anyone from the org. Seem to see loads on SVs when I'm out in the works van, but never on a ride!

Will be back in Wales for a the May bank holiday weekend, although I'm not in charge of the itinery so won't be able to meet up with anyone.

Welsh roads rock. :riding:

On long journeys I found that you can use the wind to your advantage. If you relax a little and lean into the wind at cruising speeds, you will be suprised how much the wind will help you stay upright thus releiving pressure on the wrists.

Unfortunatley these kinds of speeds see my brother flapping in the wind hanging from the bars of his Superduke!
