The road from Tal-y-Llyn up towards Dolgellau? Yep the A487 at Bwlch Llyn Bach (Little Lake Pass). The view down to Tal-y-Llyn was spectacular today. :D

My kids go to Uni at Aberystwyth and that's on my way..... I like living here when it's sunny!

the roads up there are getting worse everytime i go there, gravel and rubble bits everywhere gaz (cuz) wasnt too happy he dont like gravel roads.
glad to hear you got home on one tank of fuel, i topped up 3 times £21 of fuel abouts to do 240 miles. on the M54 on the way home me and gaz sat at about 70 - 90 mph it was quite windy but we never saw big dave and martin again christ knows what speeds they were up to;)

Hmm, I like the look of that area, have to organise a "long" Sunday ride and perhaps meet you peeps.

If I left at about 7:30 I could make the Ponderosa for lunch, maybe an hour or so in the "Vallies" and then make my way back to London....

If I could get a couple of mates would you guys be up for that ?

.

kwak zzr

Just over 500 miles... Leave at 7:30, Ponderosa for 11:30, back in for 18:00'ish. That's a FireBlade riders "run out" :)

Might be better for you to meet at dinky's like I did. That way you get to do 'real roads' an hour sooner. Make a big circle around to arrive back Welshpool way before heading off. Might give more time on twisties and less time on M-way?

I'm up for that too, given enough notice. I could easily meet at Ponderosa lunch time.

Dinkies looks a wee further a field, but if Luckypants can make it I'm sure I can :D

Dinky's is practically Shrewsbury Baph, so a trek for you. We can sort something out if we end up in a big biker gang. That's if Jelster don't mind us crashing his party.

Motorway ??

M4 to Swindon then cross country from there... About 4 hours including 1 petrol/coffee stop. God invented A roads knowing that the FireBlade would soon be among us :p

Definately up for some of that. I'm pretty sure I could make it regular too, if that was on the cards.

Keep us posted as to when you're next at Ponderosa, and I'm there (subject to not having other plans).

God those Wales pics have really got me going! What nice weather you're having, really nice! I'm def going to pass through coming next July. I'm thinking that just before starting my journey I'd start a thread named "zunkus traveling UK, wanna meet?". This way I could send pictures during my journey and blog about things as they happen. Also guys on the site would get an idea of where I'm at and could ride along us if they'd like or arrange to meet at some point. Should be interesting I guess?

Personally, I ride to the speed of the slowest bike I'm with. It'd be rude to leave someone behind.

Besides, you're prolly quicker than you think you are anyhow.

Don't let you opinion of yourself put you off :p

We can always meet in the middle for a ride around that bit. Aberystwyth for ice creams and meet up, ride around a bit and end up around Welshpool. A483 south for you and that B-whatever it is for us to head north.

in our little group i usually fly off at my own pace when i'm on great roads but a mile of so down the road i usually slow to let the rest of the pack catch up, it was great on sunday to ride with luckypants who rides like me or very prob faster! i cant plod along when i get to those good roads the devil makes me do it honest!:) on our way home 2 of our little group decided to sit at 3 figures on the motorway and i never saw them again but its there ride too so i dont mind.

See, I have it easy now. I go out, full waterproofs, bike gets filthy.

Then come one of the few days with a little sunshine, and my little girl turns around to me "Dad, can we wash your motorbike today?" :D

Might not be as clean as yours, but she wanted to do it all & just wanted me to watch over (and help out a little bit) to make sure she didn't damage the bike.

Best of all, she has small hands, into all the tight spaces. ;)
